The authorities said that the Islamic State terrorists where planning to detonate bombs at one of the three Taylor Swift concerts taking place in Vienna this weekend.
Taylor Swift’s three planned shows in Vienna this week were canceled after government officials said they arrested two people over a planned terrorist attack at her concert stadium.
“We have no choice but to cancel the three scheduled shows for everyone’s safety,” they said.
The Wall Street Journal: The foiled attack had echoes of the 2017 bombing at an Ariana Grande concert in Manchester, England. Islamic State claimed responsibility for the attack that killed 22 people and injured dozens more.

ISIS plot against Taylor Swift concert in Vienna narrowly foiled

An ISIS-linked plot to attack a Taylor Swift concert in Austria has been narrowly foiled by police, according to reports.
Two suspects — a 19-year-old living in his parents’ home near Vienna, along with another man — were arrested Wednesday after police raided the home and found various chemicals and substances, according to the Austrian outlet Kronen Zeitung.

Bruno Coelho – stock.adobe.comADVERTISEMENTThe pair were allegedly targeting Swift’s concerts at Vienna’s Ernst Happel Stadium, which she is scheduled to play Thursday through Saturday night to sold-out crowds.
“The suspected perpetrator was focused on the Taylor Swift concerts. Preparatory actions were detected,” said Austrian Director General for Public Safety Franz Ruf.
“A concrete threat has been averted,” he said, adding that authorities had not yet declared the concerts entirely safe and were still investigating other accomplices, according to Kronen Zeitung.
