Two Princeton, MIT Scientists Say EPA Climate Regulations Based on a ‘Hoax’

Two Princeton, MIT Scientists Say EPA Climate Regulations Based on a ‘Hoax’

Two prominent climate scientists have taken on the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) new rules to cut CO2 emissions in electricity generation, arguing in testimony that the regulations “will be disastrous for the country, for no scientifically justifiable reason.”

Citing extensive data to support their case, William Happer, professor emeritus in physics at Princeton University, and Richard Lindzen, professor emeritus of atmospheric science at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), argued that the claims used by the EPA to justify the new regulations are not based on scientific facts but rather political opinions and speculative models that have consistently proven to be wrong.

“The unscientific method of analysis, relying on consensus, peer review, government opinion, models that do not work, cherry-picking data and omitting voluminous contradictory data, is commonly employed in these studies and by the EPA in the Proposed Rule,” Mr. Happer and Mr. Lindzen stated. “None of the studies provides scientific knowledge, and thus none provides any scientific support for the Proposed Rule.”

“All of the models that predict catastrophic global warming fail the key test of the scientific method: they grossly overpredict the warming versus actual data,” they stated. “The scientific method proves there is no risk that fossil fuels and carbon dioxide will cause catastrophic warming and extreme weather.”

Climate models like the ones that the EPA is using have been consistently wrong for decades in predicting actual outcomes, Mr. Happer told The Epoch Times. He presented the table below to the EPA to illustrate his point.

“That was already an embarrassment in the ‘90s, when I was director of energy research in the U.S. Department of Energy,” he said. “I was funding a lot of this work, and I knew very well then that the models were overpredicting the warming by a huge amount.”

He and his colleague argued that the EPA has grossly overstated the harm from CO2 emissions while ignoring the benefits of CO2 to life on Earth.

Many who have fought against EPA climate regulations have done so by arguing what is called the “major questions doctrine,” that the EPA does not have the authority to invent regulations that have such an enormous impact on Americans without clear direction from Congress. Mr. Happer and Mr. Lindzen, however, have taken a different tack, arguing that the EPA regulations fail the “State Farm” test because they are “arbitrary and capricious.”

“Time and again, courts have applied ‘State Farm’s’ principles to invalidate agency rules where the agency failed to consider an important aspect of the problem, or cherry-picked data to support a pre-ordained conclusion,” they stated. The case they referred to is the 2003 case of State Farm v. Campell (pdf), in which the Supreme Court argued that “a State can have no legitimate interest in deliberately making the law so arbitrary that citizens will be unable to avoid punishment based solely upon bias or whim.”

There is NO HARM from CO2, and it doesn’t take a scientist from MIT to figure that out.

There is no possibility of a greenhouse effect here from ANY GAS, and it doesn’t take a scientist from MIT to figure that out.

This is all a stack of BS on top of the lies about the source and supply of petroleum. Petroleum doesn’t come from dead plants and animals, and it doesn’t take a scientist from MIT to figure that out.

One of our biggest problems is our reluctance to listen to our own common sense. We only trust and believe and obey the experts, and that’s why we are where we are.

The outrage over climate change is designed to limit our use of petroleum and natural gas and coal. Limiting the use of abundant energy sources limits our prosperity. By limiting our prosperity they limit our freedom, or in other words enslave us to whatever energy they want us to use and whatever prices we have to pay using currency that has been systematically devalued. We have to run endlessly, chasing another shrinking dollar to pay another growing bill. They have us worrying about a threat that doesn’t exist so we ignore the threat that does exist. They turned a free nation that should be the safest and most prosperous on earth into a model of self destruction and corruption and failure. It’s a massive theft and mass murder dressed up as a suicide.

There are so many lies in this climate change scam, stacked on top of lies, that people think some of it must be true. None of it is true.

Beyond all this, the war on fossil fuels is also part and parcel of the same war on masculinity that is at the root of the drive to spread transgenderism and turn more and more children into surgically-altered freaks. Remember, coal, oil, gas, nuclear power etc., are all manly, macho, masculine, virile, erect, red-blooded, bold-colored, strong and assertive, and deliver in the bedroom especially in the months they’re needed the most. So-called “green” energy, without exception, is all sissy, limp-wristed, pansy, effeminate, girly, pale, anemic, weak, limp, pale pastel, more impotent than the worst case of E.D., unable to get it on when it really counts, never able to satisfy their partner no matter what they do or how hard they try. It’s like the average American wants Clark Gable- or John Wayne-style service, but the elites only offer up Paul Lynde or Charles Nelson Reilly and tell them that’s all they’ll get. And who’s among the loudest of the “climate change” activists? Women and LGBTQ’s. Both of whom HATE overt masculinity and want everything totally feminized. And “green” energy is certainly feminized, for sure.

Even if one is not credentialed from MIT, he knows that climate doomsday predictions are BS. As they say, one doesn’t need to be a chicken to know a rotten egg, and one doesn’t need to be a meteorologist to know which way the wind blows.

And people have been whining how hot it is during the summer months as far back as I can remember. The hottest temperature during my lifetime in New York City was 104 in 1977, But in 1936, we set the record of 106, and haven’t come close since. Weather and climate fluctuate. Sounding an alarm for normal fluctuations is insanity unless this whole global warming fiasco is a screen to keep us occupied with nonsense instead of uncovering and prosecuting the Biden criminality.

I keep mentioning, those in the whole “climate change” scam who are among the loudest are women and LGBTQ’s. Remember that. “Green” energy has characteristics akin to each of those two groups. Which is why solar, wind and EV’s are so wimpy, anemic, limp, pansy, and feminine. And by design.

I am a Geologist, I have studied the last 600,000 years of very recent geologic history, and I have been trying to expose this LIE for a very long time.
