SHAMEFUL: U.S Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen BOWS REPEATEDLY to Chinese Communist Party Vice Premier (VIDEO)

U.S Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen arrived in China on Thursday for a four-day visit of groveling to China allegedly to ease tensions between the world’s two largest economies. Expectations were decidedly low from the outset, with China’s officials expected to treat Janet Yellen with the same disdain and contempt as they did with Antony Blinken last month. And they did.

And yet, no matter how low we set the bar, the Democrat regime always manages to go lower.

U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen bowed multiple times to Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng before a meeting in Beijing, China, Saturday — a move that some Americans found embarrassing and shameful. Further, During their meeting, He implied that the U.S. was an irrational actor.

“She did not realize bowing as an American official was a breach of protocol,” author Max Murray wrote on Twitter. “They don’t reciprocate. He even backs away to give her more space to kowtow.

U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen made an unusual gesture Saturday when she bowed to a Chinese official during her visit in Beijing.

Footage shows Yellen approaching Vice Premier He Lifeng — her Chinese counterpart — and bowing multiple times while enthusiastically shaking his hand.

Former White House staffer Bradley Blakeman, who served during President George W. Bush’s administration, told the New York Post that the gesture was unseemly.

“Never, ever, ever…an American official does not bow. It looks like she’s been summoned to the principal’s office, and that’s exactly the optics the Chinese love,” Blakeman said.

“The way to treat an adversary is, you don’t go hat in hand,” Blakeman added. “But with this administration, time and time again, we embarrass ourselves and show weakness. And it just shows the lack of effective leverage we have.”

Daily Caller: Yellen made two diplomatic mistakes Saturday when greeting her counterpart from China, according to The New York Post.

First, Yellen bowed multiple times to China’s Vice Premier He Lifeng, who did not reciprocate the gesture, according to footage of the event. Yellen then proceeded to bungle Lifeng’s name just moments later, calling her diplomatic counterpart “Vice Premier Hu,” according to The New York Post.

Yellen bowed at least three times while Lifeng backed away slightly to provide President Joe Biden’s top economy official more space to bow, according to the Post. Yellen is the latest Biden administration official to visit China in an effort to soothe escalating tensions between the two world powers.
