This is the lowest, most crudely primitive form of racism. Intelligence and hard work have no colour. Paying folks who fail – now that’s stupid.

NY Post: Failing the New York State teachers’ exam really paid off — especially for a Queens man who learned this month he’s getting a $2 million windfall over it.
Roughly 5,200 black and Hispanic ex-Big Apple teachers and once-aspiring educators are expected to collect more than $1.8 billion in judgments after the city stopped fighting a nearly three-decade federal discrimination lawsuit that found a certification exam was biased.
It’s the largest legal payout in city history.
As of Friday, 225 people who failed the Liberal Arts and Sciences Test used for teacher licensing from 1994 to 2014 had already been notified they’re getting settlements of at least $1 million, according to an analysis of Manhattan federal court records.
The case is expected to generate hundreds of other future million-dollar awards.
Herman Grim, 64, of Queens, on July 5 was awarded the biggest judgment to date — a jaw-dropping $2,055,383.

Daily Wire: New York City will pay nearly $2 billion to black and Hispanic people who wanted to become teachers but failed the exam, settling a lawsuit that alleged that the disparate passage rates showed that the test was racist. Some individuals who never worked as teachers will get more than $1 million each, and could even get pensions which will inflate the cost well beyond $1.8 billion, the New York Post reported. The Post interviewed 64-year-old Herman Grim, who will be paid $2,055,383 after failing the test “a lot.” He could not provide any examples of how the questions were racist (Daily Wire).
New York Post: The judgments are based on what the teachers and teacher candidates would have earned had they passed the test and kept working in the city’s public school system. Typically, the further back they failed the test, the more money plaintiffs are entitled to. Under an agreement ironed out in November 2021 during then-Mayor Bill de Blasio’s final weeks in office, the city agreed to set aside more than $1.8 billion in funds to pay off the plaintiffs through 2028 (New York Post).

The test wasn’t racist. They just weren’t prepared enough to pass it. If I lived in NY, and my tax dollars were paying for this nonsense, I would be furious. Unfortunately, awards like this just promote more bogus claims of racism.

I had asked above how is the test racist. No reply yet. Seems like a scam to me just like paying reparations. Crying “racist” is better than saying I cannot do it. Paying some folks for not understanding the culture they live in is extortion and asking teachers to know where they live and to whom and what they will reach is not racist. This is the United States of American and the language is American English and our culture is American. If you live in France you would have to understand their language and culture and when I lived there I had to speak in French and learn their culture to live and work there. America is losing their heritage, culture and language in the name of diversity, seems to me. We are supposed to be a melting pot not a stew with various different pieces floating in the pot and not melting together in a common culture.

No one in politics wants to say that but it is true. Oddly, it can be said that some of the Asian groups are brighter than whites (which is true, by the way) and you won’t be crucified like you will if pointing out blacks and Hispanics are not as bright as whites. Of course, this is based on averages. There are many bright blacks but overall they are around 15-18 IQ points behind whites. Most of their problems are not caused by racism but by ability.

It is buying votes, as simple as it goes. I suggest all testing be done anonymously, no names…just a random number given to each person taking the test. Test scores should be done by a multi-racial panel. This is a horrible example of racism. Some Causasions must have also taken the tests and failed,…. will they also be granted the same windfalls?
