Muslim activist Rana Abdelhamid applied for and got three sound permits to broadcast the Muslim call to prayer for the Astoria mosques, a multi cultural New York neighborhood.
The cacophony kicks off at dawn.
Muslims make up just 3.7% of the population in Astoria. And yet the whole neighborhood will be subjected to this cloying, unwelcome intrusion on the soundscape. Astoria’s demographic makeup is 14.7% of the population identified as Asian, 5.2% identified as Black, 27.4% identified as Hispanic, and 49.5% identified as white.

The wail will be blasted over outdoor loudspeakers all day, every day. Anyone who speaks out will be punished:
A 57-year-old man named Edward Wright is being investigated for possible commission of a hate crime and has been charged with simple assault and bias intimidation after he walked into a mosque in Paterson, N.J. to complain about the adhan, the Islamic call to prayer, being broadcast over loudspeakers. If Wright is guilty, he should receive the due penalty for his crimes. At the same time, any controversy over the broadcast of the adhan in American cities is being dismissed as “bigotry” and “hate,” while reality, as is always the case with Leftist propaganda, is more complicated.

The adhan, prayed in Arabic, goes like this:
Allah is greater (Allahu akbar); intoned four times.
I testify that there is no God but Allah (Ashhadu anna la ila ill Allah); intoned twice.
I testify that Mohammed is Allah’s Prophet (Ashhadu anna Muhammadan rasul Allah); intoned twice.
Come to prayer (Hayya alas salah); intoned twice.
Come to security/salvation (Hayya alal falah); intoned twice.
Allah is greater (Allahu akbar); intoned twice.
There is no God but Allah (La ilah ill Allah); intoned once.

Egyptian Rana Abdel Hamid succeeded in extracting an official permit allowing the call to prayer over loudspeakers for the first time in the mosques of the Astoria neighborhood, west of Queens, New York City, USA.ed two days ago, to obtain official permission to raise the call to prayer through loudspeakers in the mosques of Astoria
Rana and her mother, Mona Al-Baghdadi, were the reason for raising the call to prayer in the streets of Astoria with the entry of the blessed month of Ramadan, during the five daily prayers, clear and audible, as it happens in Arab and Islamic countries, in an influential and unique scene that was documented by social media platforms and circulated with pride and joy.
