Pete Buttigieg revealed on Tuesday that he will finally pay a visit to East Palestine, Ohio – nearly three weeks after a Norfolk Southern freight train derailed earlier this month resulting in large amounts of toxic chemicals being spilled or burned off, forcing evacuations as residents fear for their health.
The Transportation secretary, as well as President Joe Biden have been on the receiving end of intense backlash for not visiting the small town of 4,700 as Biden chose to travel overseas ahead of the one-year anniversary of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
