Fox News: Vanderbilt University Medical Center is suspending all permanent “gender affirmation surgery” for minors until further notice. The international medical center will forgo performing any transgender surgeries for children that cannot be undone or reverted later in life, pending an internal review. The statement comes in relation to calls from Tennessee lawmakers to investigate the clinic following a report from conservative activist Matt Walsh (Fox News). Daily Wire: Walsh, who has championed the cause of protecting gender-dysphoric children from dangerous and irreversible medical procedures, including amputation, sterilization and chemical and surgical castration, welcomed the news. “Today is an enormous victory in the battle to protect children from mutilation and abuse,” Walsh said (Daily Wire). Gov. Bill Lee: We should not allow permanent, life altering decisions that hurt children. With the partnership of the General Assembly, this practice should end in Tennessee (Twitter).
