Hollywood megalawyer paid off Hunter Biden’s $2M delinquent tax bill: Report

A prominent Hollywood attorney reportedly paid off more than $2 million of Hunter Biden’s delinquent taxes.Kevin Morris, who is most renowned for crafting a $550 million licensing deal for the co-creators of South Park, is now part of the legal and media strategy team of President Joe Biden’s son as he awaits the outcome of a federal investigation into his finances and potential foreign lobbying violations.
In addition to footing the bill for Hunter Biden’s back taxes, Morris is also funding his rent and living expenses, in addition to offering advice on how to manage his art sales, according to the New York Post
Members of Hunter’s social circle refer to Morris as his “sugar brother,” a source told the outlet.Morris’s office and Hunter Biden’s attorney Christopher Clark confirmed to CBS News on Monday the Hollywood attorney is part of Biden’s legal team. Morris is also helping develop a documentary on Biden’s life, a Democratic source told the outlet.
In March, the New York Times reported that Biden had taken out a loan to repay $1 million in back taxes. The paper suggested that Biden may have paid back his delinquent taxes to earn leniency from juries and judges, who may be more sympathetic to defendants who have already paid their bills.
Morris is also reportedly conducting an investigation to determine how a copy of Hunter Biden’s laptop entered the public domain.
Hunter reportedly dropped off his laptop to be fixed at a computer repair shop in Delaware in April 2019 but failed to retrieve the laptop after repairs were completed. The owner of the shop, John Paul Mac Isaac, eventually provided copies of the computer to the FBI and to a lawyer for former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, who later distributed copies of the drive to the media.
He has maintained his laptop may have been stolen or hacked.
“Certainly, there could be a laptop out there that was stolen from me,” he told CBS News in April 2021. “It could be that I was hacked, it could be that it was Russian intelligence. It could be that it was stolen from me.”
However, he has never addressed the signed quote produced by Mac Isaac containing what appears to be his signature authorizing the repair shop to recover data from his laptop to a store server.
