Federal government unveils plans to make coronavirus vaccine free for all Americans
A gradual rollout would give preference to vulnerable populations and health workers

Story continues below advertisementThe Department of Defense and federal health agencies have outlined plans for a coronavirus vaccine, which include having them available for free for all Americans.
The plans came in the form of a report to Congress and a “playbook” for states and local governments, The Associated Press reported. The agencies are looking at January for a potential beginning of a vaccination campaign, although it remains possible that this could come later this year.
“We are working closely with our state and local public health partners … to ensure that Americans can receive the vaccine as soon as possible and vaccinate with confidence,” Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar said in a statement.
Vaccinations would start gradually among some segments of the population – such as health workers, other essential workers, and the more vulnerable – before eventually ramping up for distribution to all who want it.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s playbook, the vaccination campaign will be “much larger in scope and complexity than seasonal influenza or other previous outbreak-related vaccination responses.”

Several vaccine candidates currently going through trials could end up being approved. The expectation is that for most of them people would need two doses between 21 and 28 days apart. The playbook encourages providers to give reminders to patients to get their second dose, which must be from the same vaccine manufacturer as the first.
An AP poll in May showed that 20% would not get a coronavirus vaccine and 31% were unsure. Since then, Democrats including vice presidential nominee Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., expressed skepticism over a vaccine if one were approved in time for November’s election.
President Trump said in a “Fox & Friends” interview Tuesday that a vaccine could be approved “in a matter of weeks.”
Government officials have insisted that politics will not play a role in vaccine development or availability and that any approved vaccine would meet standards for safety and effectiveness.

So now that Trump recommends the vaccine, it’s suddenly become safe to take it.
No more anti-vaccine stories from his supporters, or claims that Covid-19 is a hoax.

Is this not one for the ‘stranger than fiction’ book.
Trump was critical of vaccines before coming to office. Now he is pushing for “warpspeed’ development of an experimental, never been used before base for a vaccine (RNA/DNA base) – a completely insufficient testing regime that has already recorded a high percentage of undisclosed ‘side-affects’ that stopped one trial and would normally take years to work the bugs out – is proclaiming the use of the military to administer it once its available – and has been working with professionals (Fauchi and Birx) who are closely tied to the Gates Foundation…a foundation with more than a dubious past in vaccinations in India and Africa, and whose director (Bill Gates) made a statement regarding the reduction of the world’s population through the use of vaccines.????
If this was Obama, the Right would be howling and rightly so, yet Trump so far has had little criticism from supporters, other than many of them, as seen here, claiming much skepticism towards it. A strange paradox that defies the commonly accepted perception of the man, and as much as I think he is the only logical choice this election, his response to all this leaves me quite confused and concerned especially at the notion of military involvement.

Yes James, I am equally perplexed and cannot figure Trump out with respect to this. I am particularly interested in the outcome of the woman who developed transverse myelitis in the trials. I tried looking up more recent information on her and of course cannot find it. Make no mistake about it, this is a very serious condition.

Interesting that no one is talking about the fact that the company producing the vaccine has immunity from litigation for any harm incurred by the vaccine.

Without that immunity, our medicine availability would shrink and people would die more often. The original vaccine helped us get rid of smallpox. I’m old enough to have seen survivors of that disease; not pretty to put it politely.

Excellent point. But I think you need more than 6 months after the vaccine to identify and publish the problems that may occur. 2 years is more like it.

No thank you. Not when the “virus” wasn’t put through the tests that all other viruses must go through. This virus was never isolated and identified using established virol protocols . I’m referring to the DNA genome sequence and CDC testing guidelines . Even the testing is skewed . Covid 19 tests reflect the RNA genome sequence, not an isolated DNA molecule. If you’ve ever had a common cold, you will test positive for covid 19. All flu viruses belong to the family of corona viruses, using the RNA testing procedure. Is the virus real? Yes. Does it behave like most normal flu viruses? Of course. Would heard immunity invoke the bodies natural defenses and create anti-bodies? Indeed. Common sense should’ve ruled the day. We’ve been hoodwinked by medical tyranny.

The real political fallout – Democratic Party adherents are urged not to take the vaccine – With the current stance that political party leadership will determine what medicines you can and cannot trust. CDC should be ignored; so you can put your trust in Dr. Democrat?.
And then we have the audacity of the same party claiming that Donald Trump is killing citizens. The Democratic Party has become the “Death to Americans” party; but like its local socialist leadership, it is intent on destruction of the very ones who are foolish enough to continue supporting it.

Yes, there will be risks as with any vaccine. However, the Return On Investment [ROI] is positive. Cost at $10 per dose is somewhere between $3.3 to $3.6 Billion. Compare that to the sunk costs of the current mitigation efforts.
