NY Gov. Cuomo latest inhumanity to disabled group-home residents amid COVID-19

45

Governor Andrew Cuomo allowed homes for the developmentally disabled (high risk) to have staff who have been exposed to COVID. Weeks before, he prohibited these homes from turning someone away for having COVID. There were numerous reports that nursing homes, assisted living and congregate care centers were the most vulnerable to Coronavirus.

The biggest drag on New York state is Medicaid – what better way to rid the state of the old, sick, and disabled?

Cuomo’s eugenics.

Facts:

NY Governor Cuomo Forced Homes for the Developmentally Disabled To Take In Coronavirus Stricken

HORROR: Gov. Cuomo’s coronavirus policy killed more New Yorkers in nursing homes than died on 9/11

Killer Cuomo sent 6,300 COVID-19 stricken patients to nursing homes during pandemic

CRIMINAL: NY Gov. Killer Cuomo gave immunity to nursing home execs after big campaign donations

And he’s never been more popular. A testament to the still overwhelmingly powerful and corrupt, leftwing Democrat media complex.

New York’s latest inhumanity to disabled group-home residents amid COVID-19

By Jim Mulvaney,  NY Post, July 14, 2020:

Thousands of healthy, developmentally disabled New Yorkers are captive behind locked doors because of a bureaucratic regression, backed by Gov. Andrew Cuomo and hidden from public view by the COVID-19 crisis. The situation is sadly reminiscent of the horrors of Willowbrook State Hospital.

New York state is zooming to the new normal: tattoo parlors inking, beauty parlors snipping, nail salons clipping, bars slinging hooch. Meanwhile, developmentally disabled New Yorkers are being held prisoner in group homes because a state-licensing agency has adopted a “one size fits all” program. My son Dan, 32, is one of them.

The agency — the Office for People with Developmental Disabilities — ordered all group-home residents to be confined to quarters in late March as the COVID crisis began to unfold. They remain so today because the disabled are not a priority of the Cuomo administration.

Dan was an active guy: He played ice hockey with a special team, tilled the soil at an organic farm and toted hay bales — usually two at a time — at a horse stable.

Now his sole outdoor activity is a daily walk around the block in a leafy section of Long Island.

Dan and three of his roommates contracted the virus in late March. It was a tough two weeks — our only observation via FaceTime coordinated by dedicated and loving house staff. The guys recovered.

We asked that Dan be allowed some freedom with safety precautions (he wears a mask outside). OPWDD said no: Many group-home residents are at high risk due to medical conditions (Dan is physically quite healthy) or because they are aged (Dan is 32). One size fits all.

In the 1960s, institutionalization was the government’s response to developmental disability. Most thought nothing of it until Geraldo Rivera sneaked cameras into the Dickensian chamber.

The late Sen. Robert Kennedy said Willowbrook was caused by a state agency’s “lack of attention, lack of imagination.” Later Gov. Mario Cuomo said Willowbrook happened because “government was aloof, remote, not responsive.” Déjà vu all over again?

Harlem woman helping developmentally disabled adults through coronavirus crisisWhy don’t we just take Dan home? Because if we do, the state threatens to prevent him from going back, even if his 65-year-old parents got sick.

Dan doesn’t want a tattoo or a perm; he only wants to go to the beach to surf. In 2002 we started a program to introduce people with autism to the healing powers of the ocean. From that was born Surf For All, a Long Beach, LI, charity that has provided thousands of in-ocean lessons to challenged athletes.

Dan wants to step outside, away from the television, away from air conditioning, to taste the salt air seven miles away. The folks at Surf For All have adopted strict post-COVID safety measures, including temperature checks and masks for surfers and students. His new wetsuit goes unused.

OPWDD won’t let Dan in our car and refuses to let residents ride in agency vans for anything other than doctor visits. Why? Won’t say. (Aloof? Lack of imagination?

concession: half-hour family visits to the group home, fully masked. We had ours Father’s Day. Dan gave me a gift — a framed photo of the two of us at a social event — and a card with a cartoon of a bear and the words: “Happy Father’s Day to a dad who can fix anything!”

I have fought many battles for my son over the years, rebuffing demands that he enter an institution at age 5 (the same thing told to Willowbrook parents years earlier). We blocked school officials trying to force him into a residential facility (later unmasked as a bastion of sexual predation). Dan doesn’t understand why he can’t go to the beach. His eyes plead: Dad, take me to the beach.

Willowbrook happened because the residents were locked away; if you didn’t have a relative there, you didn’t know. Today, group-home residents across New York are in the same position and remain on the bottom of the priority list for the Cuomo administration. I wish I could be the dad to fix this.

How cruel. These are PEOPLE! Hitler would be so pleased and Dr. Mengele would be smiliing too – especially when it comes to removing organs from live breathing whole babies for profit. It makes me sick.

If he can get them infected with COVID-19, he makes money off Medicare.

US: Hospitals Get Paid More to List Patients as COVID-19…
Apr 9, 2020

Jensen, April 8: I would remind him that anytime health care intersects with dollars it gets awkward. Right now Medicare has determined that if you have a COVID-19 admission to the hospital, you’ll get paid $13,000. If that COVID-19 patient goes on a ventilator, you get $39,000, three times as much. Nobody can tell me after 35 years in the world of medicine that sometimes those kinds of things impact on what we do.

“So, hospitals get an extra $13,000 if they diagnose a death as COVID-19,” a widely shared meme on Facebook claimed. “And an additional $39,000 if they use a ventilator!” One post of the meme, shared by hundreds, was captioned: “And then we wonder why the numbers of deaths are embellished…”

The figures cited by Jensen generally square with estimated Medicare payments for COVID-19 hospitalizations, based on average Medicare payments for patients with similar diagnoses.

Medicare — the federal health insurance program for Americans 65 and older, a central at-risk population when it comes to COVID-19 — pays hospitals in part using fixed rates at discharge based off a grouping system known as diagnosis-related groups.

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services has classified COVID-19 cases with existing groups for respiratory infections and inflammations. A CMS spokesperson told us exact payments vary, depending on a patient’s principal diagnosis and severity, as well as treatments and procedures. There are also geographic variations.

An analysis by the Kaiser Family Foundation looked at average Medicare payments for hospital admissions for the existing diagnosis-related groups and noted that the “average Medicare payment for respiratory infections and inflammations with major comorbidities or complications in 2017 … was $13,297. For more severe hospitalizations, we use the average Medicare payment for a respiratory system diagnosis with ventilator support for greater than 96 hours, which was $40,218.”

It is true, however, that the government will pay more to hospitals for COVID-19 cases in two senses: By paying an additional 20% on top of traditional Medicare rates for COVID-19 patients during the public health emergency, and by reimbursing hospitals for treating the uninsured patients with the disease (at that enhanced Medicare rate).

Yes Felix and what is not being stressed is that they get the bonus in pay for this irrespective of the length of stay or time on the ventilator. The payments are based on an average length of stay and not the LOS for the party in question. They get the same amount of bonus if the admission is 14 days or if it is 14 hours. They get the same amount if the time on the vent is 14 days or 1.4 hours.

I can attest to that. My neice is in the medical coding. everything at first was coded covid. $13,000 per head and $39,000 per ventilator in use. I have come to the conclusion after looking a the various states and bureaucracies this is all a plandemic. They are desperate to et Trump out. If this fails there is one alternative left. Nov 1963 scenario. They know Pence is a weak sister. Possibly with shenanigans they could beat him in the election. If that came to pass it is so important for Biden have a V.P. that can step in 5 or 6 months after the election. Biden has a history of strokes. They will kill him outright with a “stroke”. VP steps up finishes term. Has 2 more terms after that. What a scenario.

Is that DeBloviate making a “white power” hand gesture?

Clearly the mainstream misleadia are all Cuomo-sexuals, but the more we call him “The Butcher of New York” and such, people will ask why, and we can tell them. Obviously their daily dose of “Pravda” isn’t going to tell them.

It’s like another Holocaust. They are viewed as defective and disposable people.
Then they tell you, “never forget” as they deny it or look away from what is happening right now.

One of the rationalizations given by the Nazi doctors for the extermination of the Jews is that it was being done in THEIR best interest to save them from the miserable death of typhus and other infectious diseases.

The NAZI had a phrase that they used for all their atrocities, “Fur ihre sicherheit”. In English, “For your safety/security”. Sounds familiar.

And the “mentally deficient” as they were thought of (basically anyone with special needs) were the first to be genocided by the 3rd Reich. They made them write stacks of postcards to their families, then they took them out for a van ride with the exhaust pipe routed inside. And the families were still getting postcards from their dead loved ones; they didn’t even know.

They practiced on the most vulnerable before they started killing the Jews and all their other victims.

A little appreciated fact about Nazi Germany and the extermination of Jews and mentally impaired individuals (comparable to group home residents today) is that the entire program was under the guise of Public Health and run by their Public Health Department.

The Concentration Camps were entirely run by doctors. Doctors did the selections of who is to live and who is to die. Doctors ordered the gas to be turned on and looked at the victims through windows as they died. Doctors were the ones who gave the order to turn off the gas when the last person was seen to take his/her last breath. They were all doctors and the extermination was done in the name of Public Health – they had to protect the public from getting infected with the contagion carried by the Jews!

And one of the frightening things about it was that there was no penalty for doctors who refused to go along with the government program of extermination. They simply declared themselves to be objectors and did not participate. But just like the doctors who disagree with what is going on today with the CV19 nonsense, their opinions were given no publicity.

For anyone wishing to learn more about this and how the current CV19 stuff is in many ways a replay I urge you to read The Nazi Doctors, by Jay Lifton. The author gives accounts from Camp survivors AND 7 or 8 surviving Nazi doctors who he interviewed. The book is chilling!

Dr. Benjamin Rush, one of the people involved in drafting the US Constitution warned of the dangers of “medical tyranny.”

I believe it is likely that in the future who lives and who dies might be decided by artificial intelligence. That is really chilling and entirely possible today.

In Germany, in the 1930s, a new leader came in. Not long after disabled and intellectually challenged patients were used as test subject in the first gas chambers. This reduced government costs and showed how easy it is to remove humanity with an inexpensive gas.

A prayer for Dan;
Father, I thank and glorify you. Cuomo and all these Nazis are only there because the people have allowed things to get to this horrible condition. You are causing truth to be revealed so that people will learn discernment and choose. You are much bigger than autism, Covid-19, Andrew Cuomo, and all the wicked people who desire to bind us with diseases and chains.

I believe autism can sometimes be medical and sometimes be caused by a spirit that has come inside and attached itself to a victim, sometimes in conjunction with a physical event. We know from your Word that quite often Jesus cast out a spirit in order to release someone from a disease. I thank you that you love to heal; it is inherent in your divine nature. I ask you in the name of Jesus to touch and heal Dan as perfectly and beautifully as you have touched and healed me on several occasions. There is no one like you. Thank you, and I pray that you will manifest your miraculous goodness to Dan, his family, and others at this facility. Cause a move of the Holy Spirit in that place. Thank you. Amen.

Thank you for caring about Dan so much you were willing to hear my usual long winded prayer. I know God can use Dan mightily just the way he is. He enjoys using the weak things of this world to confound the mighty and proud. I have way too much personal experience with His willingness to show that healing is part of His nature. God likes faith in His person and His word. I have been healed miraculously while reading His word back to Him.

Now that these group home residents, including Dan, have been infected and recovered, they are immune and non contagious for at least 6 months and probably at least a year. Thee is no reason not to let these individuals out to spend time with family, or to go on supervised field trips.

The democratic machine has no problem letting criminals out of prison so that they can commit more crimes. In contrast, there are no negative consequences of improving these people’s lives by allowing them to engage in outside activities.

As of last week in Marx-a-chusetts, the numbers didn’t match New York’s, but the percentage was just as high. Almost 5200 of the state’s almost 8000 COVID deaths were nursing home patients.

RINO governor Charlie Baker (rhymes with FAKER) may not have killed as many as New York’s Huomo (NOT a typo)……but he’s trying his best to catch up.

I completely agree with you. This was negligence that resulted in harm. They also need to go after Whitmer. Did you see the video of the 23 year old mentally ill Covid + man who she sent to a nursing home and he videoed himself punching a 75 year old bedridden man in the face? And to add insult to injure, the 75 year old was taken out of his nursing home and sent to the one where the assault took place. His family did not know that he had been moved and were trying to locate him when the video of him being battered went viral.

Boiling mad … it’s too late in the evening to fry an egg on my bald spot; so I’ll just let it go here …

… thank God we took my brother out of his group home almost five years ago now.

He has Down’s – compounded with severe retardation due to medical incompetence – and lives in a permanent state at four years of age.

We knew he was unhappy in the group homes, but what can you do … as it happened we found ourselves in a position to take care of him – and made the decision to do so. Best decision we’ve made for him in the last twenty years.

Not sure what we will do when we can no longer care for him, but we will leave that up to God.
