Facebook Bans Trump Campaign Ad that Denounces Antifa Violence

Facebook removed an ad from the Trump campaign earlier today attacking Antifa, citing its policy on “organized hate.”
The ad, now removed by Facebook, denounced Antifa, the decentralized movement of far-left agitators known for acts of domestic terrorism and political violence.
During the George Floyd riots, Attorney General William Barr described the actions of Antifa as domestic terrorism, and President Trump has also confirmed that he intends to label Antifa a domestic terrorist organization.
The now-deleted Trump ad featured an inverted red-and-black triangle to symbolize the Antifa movement, which uses the red-and-black color scheme in their badges, flags, and propaganda as a form of ideological identification. Red-and-black are the historical colors of the anarcho-communist movement, and red triangles are an Antifa symbol according to products available for purchase.
In the now-deleted ad, the official Team Trump Facebook account said:
Dangerous MOBS of far-left groups are running through our streets and causing absolute mayhem. They are DESTROYING our cities and rioting – it’s absolute madness.
It’s important that EVERY American comes together at a time like this to send a united message that we will not stand for their radical actions any longer. We’re calling on YOU to make a public statement and add your name to stand with President Trump against ANTIFA.
Please add your name IMMEDIATELY to stand with your President and his decision to declare ANTIFA a Terrorist Organization.
But Facebook, and far-left organizations that regularly run cover for Antifa, said the red-and-black triangle was a “hate” symbol because it is similar to a symbol used by Nazi Germany in concentration camps.
Facebook apparently bought this argument, even though the Trump team’s post was clearly about Antifa.
“We removed these posts and ads for violating our policy against organized hate,” a company spokesman told New York Daily News. “Our policy prohibits using a banned hate group’s symbol to identify political prisoners without the context that condemns or discusses the symbol.”

In a comment to the New York Daily News, the Trump team again pointed out the symbol’s links to Antifa.

This is not the first time Facebook has deliberately censored political ads from the Trump team. Ahead of the 2018 midterm elections, Facebook censored a Trump ad about the dangers of mass immigration.

And there is more to this amazing story. Rasmussen finds that about 15% of conservatives won’t give political opinions on the phone anymore, so Trumps’ popularity numbers are under-reported. Trump’s ‘strongly disapprove’ ratings are also better than Obama’s. And also, concern about which way the country is headed has understandably dropped to 27% positive, but still, approval of Trump continues to be high. And of course, more than 1 million people just want to see Trump in person, in spite of the Covid-19 risks.

Spot On! We used to d/c as soon as they mention politics as it is used to type all phone numbers and hence identities unlisted or not but now it never gets that far. How do I know this? I was targeted by muslims for posting sura on their websites and when it became threatening we had to change our phone number several times until I learnt the lesson of checking the number then immediately d/c if it was unknown mobile , unknown out of state or unknown overseas number then blocking. Now that includes polls. Our blocking list is extremely long

♦And now today the DOJ is announcing that Solicitor General Noel Francisco will be departing: “Solicitor General of the United States Noel Francisco announces his departure from the Department of Justice, effective as of July 3, 2020.” (LINK)
With those final two departures there’s no longer any Main Justice leadership in position from the era of Jeff Sessions and Rod Rosenstein. Seems like quite a coincidence.
It could be another impeachment circus coming up during the general to keep voters off balance. It would be a distraction from Biden who is practically an imbecile. It could also backfire. I think most people are seeing the constant desperate maneuvers to unseat Trump over nothing.

Once more, I read of the president’s intention to classify the fascist terrorist group “antifa” as a terrorist organization. He’s been making that statement for quite some time. Why hasn’t he done it?
The argument has been posited that there is no law regarding domestic terrorism. But, the above referenced fascist terrorist group IS international. They’re all over the UK and Europe. The State Department has the authority to classify a foreign terrorist group. This wouldn’t be the first time that a foreign terrorist had members on U.S. soil. Neither would it be the first time that American citizens were members.
This seems to be another of his promises that he will break.

Criminal reform, rebuilding our military, not getting into another war, bringing some troops home, getting some accountability for NATO members, surviving at least two coup attempts, rebuilding the economy up until the pandemic, then getting help for the unemployed and businesses trying to survive through the pandemic, mobilizing the industrial base to focus on protective equipment and medical equipment like respirators, making quite a bit of progress on border security, trying to get Democrat mayors and governors not to let rioters destroy their cities.
Police accountability and reform in the last few days, standing up to China on trade, trying to find out what happened in Ukraine, leading to a coverup impeachment, respect for police, first responders and military, respect for flag, respect for our past, respect for all races ( Dems call him racist by lying). Google can do what they want. This not a 1A issue. Only the govt is forbidden from censoring speech. The issue is that Google chooses to restrict, ban and hide content that doesn’t jive with their political ideology. Section 230 give them them the power to do this without any fear of legal suit.
Worse, they have no competition to their advertising business. it’s become a monopoly. They dominate online advertising as much if not more than Standard Oil once dominated the petroleum industry.

Google and FB are publicly traded but still private sector entities. The govt does not own or run them.
The Feds may have a anti-trust case against Google because of their dominance of PPC advertising. Bing is the only competitor but Google has at least 90% of the ad sales volume.
If the Govt changes Section 230 and eliminates immunity from suit, it doesn’t necessarily prevent Google/FB/Twitter from continuing to censor.
The only effective response to their censorship would be economic warfare.
If a significant portion of stockholders sold off their shares of these three companies their stock price would drop, the question is how much. A secondary economic weapon would be rolling boycotts of their largest advertisers, consumer prod co’s, entertainment co’s etc. if none of that works, violence has always been very effective in modifying behavior.

Trump is making them ask for help. If he goes in there, people will get violent and killed and it will escalate. At this point I don’t care what happens in Seattle. The decent people there, if there are any left, are doing nothing about it and keep voting the crap in office. That’s not Trump’s fault…. You can’t keep blaming Trump for your problems! FB just made that up. I’ve studied WW2 and Nazism for 60 years. I’ve never heard of an upside-down red triangle being a Nazi symbol. Pretty thin. Anyway, FB has, with it’s censorship, become unAmerican.

Learn something everyday. So, red triangle stands for political prisoner. It’s not a racist symbol, however. Of all the thousands of pictures of concentration camp prisoners, I never saw these before. Maybe it’s because the pics were black and white.

In the early years of the KLs 1933 to 1941 they were standard everywhere but not in the pure extermination camps in the 1942-43 period. With the introduction of mass extermination in general KLs in 1943 I think that new arrivals mostly being Jewish it became pointless to issue such as the new arrivals were, mostly Jews, soviet POWs, priests and gypsies. The latter had their own camp. The clergy never lasted long(treated as badly if not worse than the Jews) while soviet POWs gained value as workers as the war continued and the Jews were supposed to be worked to death if they missed the showers. This IMO is why so many photographs taken of KL survivors show no badges although the B/W point is relevant.

I know that in the thirties, the Nazi’s arrested “troublesome” people, gave them a short sentence in jail, maybe a fine, but generally did not torture them or kill them at that time, Probably because the Nazi’s thought the world’s eyes were upon them. Once the war began, the world looked away at other issues. According to the historians I read, there never were more than 35,000 such prisoners in jails or camps (including the Jews), usually less. It wasn’t until the war started that they started the death camps. There aren’t many history books that have photographs of prisoners in the 1930’s. In fact, I can’t recall ever seeing such photographs. The ones I saw were from the death camp period. Now, thanks to the internet “library” we can see more. Like I said, one learns something new everyday.

And the red triangle is not racist, it just stands for political prisoners. One gets designated “political prisoner” by opening one’s mouth, or writing with one’s hand. So, FB is wrong to ban it on that account. Anyway, how does one prove that the red triangle Trump’s campaign has any relationship to the Nazi’s racism. Are we to believe that yellow triangular traffic Yield signs are Nazi symbols for Jew? Really? (rhetorical)

Looking at the ad, the “triangle” is actually an arrow, pointing to where supporters can sign up. I can’t see connection to Nazi death camps at all. Maybe a historian could make a connection, but this is just an attempt by Facebook to make Trump appear as a hate group and I think he should sue Facebook for a billion dollars for defamation of character, and then another billion as punitive damages.
