Isis leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi seen in new video for first time in five years

Isis media outlet releases speech by leader

The Independent, April 25, 2019:

The leader of Isis, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, has appeared on video for the first time in nearly five years.

The group’s media arm released a speech by the elusive leader on Monday, in which he addresses the territorial defeat of Isis in Syria and praises recent terror attacks around the world. It is the first time he has been pictured since July 2014, when he announced the creation of the Isis caliphate from the al-Nuri Mosque in Mosul.

Although Isis has released several audio recordings from Baghdadi over the past few years, his fate has been the subject of intense speculation. Following the capture of the last of the group’s territory month, Western intelligence agencies have speculated that he had gone into hiding somewhere in the desert regions of Iraq or Syria.

The elusive leader, who took control of the Islamic State of Iraq in 2010, took the group from an underground insurgency to a proto-state which ruled over some 10 million people. Since the last time he appeared in public, the caliphate he ruled over has all but crumbled, and thousands of his fighters have been killed or languish in jail cells.

In the 18-minute video, titled “In the Hospitality of the Emir of the Believers,” Baghdadi sits alongside three other Isis members whose faces are blurred, next to a rifle and ammunition belt. He praises the recent terror attacks in Sri Lanka, which targeted churches and hotels and left more than 250 people dead, calling it “revenge” for Baghouz — the small Syrian village where Isis made its last stand.

“And as for our brothers in Sri Lanka, I was overjoyed when I heard about the suicide attack, which overthrew the cradles of the Crusaders, and avenged them for our brethren in Baghouz,” he said, as the video showed footage from the atrocities and the pledge of allegiance by the attackers.

“It was by the grace of god that there were Americans and Europeans in Sri Lanka,” he said. “They questioned God, who answered in the form of bringing the suicide attackers.”

Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi appeared in a new video released by Isis on 29 April 2019He adds that Isis would seek revenge for the killing and imprisonment of its militants, and that his group was in a “battle of attrition.”

Baghdadi has been rumoured to have been killed a number of times. In 2017, Russia said it was investigating whether one of its airstrikes on the city of Raqqa killed him and 300 other fighters. Other reports suggested he had been incapacitated by a US-led coalition strike.

Baghdadi announces the creation of the Isis caliphate at the al-Nuri Mosque in Mosul, July 2014.

The Syrian Democratic Forces, a US-backed coalition of Kurdish and Arab fighters, declared victory against the Isis caliphate on March 23, when they captured the group’s last piece of territory. But although Isis no longer holds land, it remains a potent threat. US intelligence estimates that it still has some 15,000 fighters still at its disposal in Iraq and Syria. Sleeper cells are already launching attacks in both countries.

So the “Caliph” was not killed after all. Nevertheless, he will be made to answer for his many crimes one day. The many victims of the Islamic State deserve justice.

He praises the low IQ brainwashed suicide bombers who do his dirty work for him while he enjoys all the fruits of his efforts.

Yes, and they’re stupid enough to idolize him. Do you know he raped that girl Kayla Mueller? She was his sex slave, chained in a room with other women. Tho’ as stupid as she was I don’t even pity her.

Look at this mound of excrement. I can smell him from here.

I hope that when this turd’s day comes, the lessons learned in the Bin Laden raid are remembered. Al-Baghdadi’s execution should be public, graphic and brutal. A message must be sent..and received.

And they need to start letting this vermin know that, after we kill them, they’re going to be wrapped in pork-impregnated body bags. I’m totally serious.

That is serious. I always thought that certain, murdering ‘big shots’ in the jihad movement should be torn apart and eaten by starving, wild pigs. That would get their inbred attention span to sit up and take notice.

Can’t sign on to the pigs thing, but only because I don’t want innocent animals to be made hungry!

And this would be a great weapon of war. I can’t take credit for it tho’; my late father-in-law suggested it.

Yeah, I thought about that ‘starving’ part too. Maybe, if they developed a taste for Hajji steaks, they would just do the job anyway.

Referring to the “Intelligence Agencies” pf the USA and UK is an oxymoron. They are neither intelligent or have any common sense. Al-Baghdadi is most probably a guest of Erdogan and the Turks who have been supplying him with money and weapons. They will keep him as long as he is useful. I doubt killing him will be as easy as taking OBL from the Pakistani’s. The Turks are much more clever.
