Of course. a hoax. I reported on that back on February 11. But the left’s choke-hold on bureaucracies, deep state, government agencies and most especially media outlets, strikes fear in almost everyone. And this is what the left does and how the operate.
They create narratives out of whole fiction to support their destructive ideology. And then they destroy people with whom they disagree. Smollet should be prosecuted with the same impunity as those who commit hate crimes. What I want to know is, why aren’t all those Muslim hate crime hoaxes prosecuted with the equal vigor?
Jussie Smollett Labeled a Suspect by Chicago Police

Story continues below advertisementThe Chicago police said Wednesday they now consider Jussie Smollett, the “Empire” actor who said he was the victim of a hate crime, a suspect amid allegations that he had actually staged the assault he reported in January.
Law enforcement officials said they had begun presenting evidence to a grand jury in what now appears to be a case where investigators believe Mr. Smollett falsely reported being attacked.
Mr. Smollett, who is black and openly gay, had told the police that, while walking in downtown Chicago, he had been confronted by masked white men who hurled homophobic and racial slurs at him, and announced it was “MAGA country,” a reference to President Trump’s campaign slogan.

The statement from the Chicago Police Department said: “Jussie Smollett is now officially classified as a suspect in a criminal investigation by #ChicagoPolice for filing a false police report (Class 4 felony). Detectives are currently presenting evidence before a Cook County Grand Jury.”
Mr. Smollett had received an immediate outpouring of public support. Many cited his account as an example of another in a rising tide of hate crimes, which the F.B.I. reported last fall had increased for the third straight year.
But the change in thinking by investigators has unleashed a barrage of criticism toward the news media, politicians and activists who many critics said were too quick to embrace a sketchy account in their drive to tarnish the president.
Mr. Smollett has continued to vehemently insist that the incident occurred just as he reported it. A representative for him said that she was “aware of the news” but had no further comment.But from the start, investigators have had difficulty corroborating Mr. Smollett’s story, even with about a dozen detectives assigned to the case. Questions quickly rose about whether the incident had occurred in the way Mr. Smollett described.
No surveillance cameras caught the attack. There were no witnesses. He had not reported it from the scene, and was still wearing a noose that he said the perpetrators had placed around his neck when he got home.
Investigators, though, were able to track two men who appeared on video footage not far from the scene that night. Using ride share data, they discovered the two men were brothers who in fact knew Mr. Smollett. One had acted as an extra on “Empire.”
The police initially identified the brothers as possible suspects in the attack, but then released them after, anonymous law enforcement officials were quoted as saying, the men said Mr. Smollett had staged the attack and paid them a reported $3,500 to participate in it.
The brothers, Olabinjo and Abimbola Osundairo, of Nigerian descent, were brought in as witnesses to the grand jury Wednesday evening with their attorney.
Filing a false police report in Illinois is technically referred to as disorderly conduct and can be charged as either a misdemeanor or a felony. In Mr. Smollett’s case, the police statement said that the grand jury was considering a felony count, which carries a maximum sentence of three years in prison.

Well not a suspect anymore because they are going to arrest him as soon as he turns himself in with his attorneys tomorrow. If he doesn’t then their will be a bench warrant for his arrest. I guess will have to wait and see how they will handle it. I lied years ago to a police officer???????? (not my proudest moment) Lol I guess he did that too a few years back. But filing false charges is worse because then you have lots of cops trying to find these people that takes money and manpower. He should have to pay back every cent! But I’m willing to bet he is going to continue with his lies and will not admit to it or apologize. Btw, the Left will not say a word either!

Ya this was definitely a felony. His story could’ve lead to a rise in hate and racial attacks against whites/conservatives based on a lie/false accusation. So perps should be dealt with harshly for trying to spread misinformation and it’ll make such people think twice in the future.
And as Pam rightly stated, they should come down hard on Muslims who also tend to create hoaxes, fake attacks to force people to give them concessions and change our laws to be more deferential to Muslims/Islam.
The good thing is that now people will hopefully be more skeptical and do their due diligence before believing such claims blindly in the future. Smollet obviously wanted to become famous but instead he achieved the opposite effect and is infamous now.

It did, and a white guy wearing a MAGA hat at a Sam’s Club was sworn at and a gun was pulled on him in the store and pointed at his face. Police were called, the perp was arrested. This was after Smollet but before the hoax broke. In the store, not at a rally where nerves are all on edge. The perp fled to his car but couldn’t take off because his mother was still inside the store.
Smollet needs his ass handed to him, and Harris and Booker along with every media outlet that hyped it up, should face heavy fines with loud apologies to all of America.

Why do you say that? The ones who are killed early on usually get it for attacking women and/or kids. I also worked in prison in MI and most of the inmates are Black and most absolutely loved obama and were delighted when he ostensibly “won” the election in 2008. There was jubilation and I would think that the same thing would happen to someone who tried to foment more hatred of Trump.
Can you let us know more specifically why you think he would face immediate danger in prison? It is not readily apparent to me.

Yes I did, in the medical clinics so I saw all the people who were assaulted in prison but they always claimed to have accidentally fallen and denied the assaults. I was in a Michigan prison so I never saw any celebrities, or midgets. It would not have occurred to me that a black man who is a celebrity because he hates Trump and tried to frame whites would be at a particularly high risk for personal injury. From what I saw the people who were at risk were primarily those who were incarcerated to criminal sexual conduct.

Again, he is a celebrity, and a gay one at that. Which means some jackwad would like to knock him off in order to make a name for himself, as happened with Jeffrey Dahmer and Whitey Bulger.
I worked in ad seg / solidarity and dealt with the worst of the worst. Child molesters never came out of their cells for rec time because they knew if they did, they were never coming back.

I am sure they did not come out. I am a woman (5’1″ 120 lbs) and worked in an all men maximal security prison. It was quite an experience but interestingly the prisoners (those not in solitary) were incredibly polite to me. One of them told me that if anyone did harm me he would not live long because what would it prove? How big and strong a man he is? (But I was not reassured and remained on high alert at all times.) But I must admit that if someone was actually killed in the prison I would not have seen it because they had to be alive to get to the medical clinic. I hope that Jussie is not killed in prison because I want to see him do the time – a full 10 years -3 for filing the fake report to Chicago; 5 or more from the post office for mailing a threat; and hopefully a few more for whatever they can find.

Ha ha. I really would like to see a charge brought against him for trying to affect the outcome of an election – because after all that is what he was doing. I would also like to see more investigation regarding his connection to Kamala and how much she knew about what he was planning on doing to promote her anti hate bill.

It is encouraging to see a growing push-back movement against this Islamo-lefty bullying with the Smollet guy being exposed and having to face the law, the Covington school kid suing WaPo and an emphatic NO to jihadi brides wanting to be let back in, though only time will tell if the authorities stick to that stance or wilt against the inevitable lawsuits that CAIR and equivalent UK Muslim apologist groups will bring to bear on them. Hoping to see it grow into a movement.

Just take a look at the people who are believing this garbage. He kept the noose on his neck? Really? He’s got to be the first black man in the history of the U.S. who’s ‘kept the noose’ on after the attempted so called lynching. Why did the attackers leave him with a noose on his neck? And what that actor doesn’t know is if two people were really intent on committing a hate crime in sub zero weather, perhaps they would have waited til he stepped indoors somewhere to do all their work. Because doing that kind of strenuous activity in those low temperatures is murder (pardon the pun) on the joints.

News has just surfaced that Kamala Harris is Jussie’s aunt and CPD discovered in Jussie’s phone records that he was in contact with Harris and Booker just before the”attack.” The motive for the scam is obvious. Harris is trying to put through an anti-lynching bill at the same time Jussie perpetrates this hoax. This can’t be a coincidence.
