These are Orwellian times, my friends. Is it any wonder that terror supporters and jihad-aligned Islamic groups are so smug? Imagine the uproar if Houston honored AFDI and brought me in to talk about the jihad threat. There would be petitions, protests, boycotts, riots. But honoring a Muslim Brotherhood Hamas group? No problem. What is most disturbing about this is not just the strategy of Muslim Brotherhood groups (not just CAIR, but also ISNA, MSA, et al) for stealth infiltration and overthrow of the US government, but the success they have achieved — the level of access, infiltration and influence in the highest level of government and media. Houston’s Sylvester Turner proves that.
Turner no doubt has no idea that during the course of the Holy Land Foundation (HLF) trial, the trial of what was once the largest Islamic charity in the U.S., that was since shut down for funneling money to Hamas, many incriminating documents were entered into evidence. The most significant of these was “An Explanatory Memorandum on the General Strategic Goal for the Group in North America,” employing US Muslim Brotherhood ….
groups that could help convince Muslims “that their work in America is a kind of grand Jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and ‘sabotaging’ its miserable house by their hands … so that … Allah’s religion [Islam] is made victorious over all other religions.”

These groups (CAIR, ISNA, NAIT, et al) were identified in the US government’s case against Islamic terror funding “charities” as “participants in a network of U.S.-based organizations affiliated with the designated foreign terrorist organization.”

At the end of the document, the memorandum lists those Muslim Brotherhood organizations that – if they all worked together – could help accomplish this grand objective. These organizations include ISNA, NAIT, the Occupied Land Fund (OLF ) (the former name of the Holy Land Foundation), the Islamic Association for Palestine (IAP), the United Association for Studies and Research (UASR), and others. Id.
ISNA and NAIT, in fact, shared more with HLF than just a parent organization. They were intimately connected with the HLF and its assigned task of providing financial support to HAMAS. Shortly after HAMAS was founded in 1987, as an outgrowth of the Muslim Brotherhood, Govt. Exh. 21-61, the International Muslim Brotherhood ordered the Muslim Brotherhood chapters throughout the world to create Palestine Committees, whose job it was to support HAMAS with “media, money and men.” Govt. Exh. 3-15.
The U.S.-Muslim Brotherhood created the U.S. Palestine Committee, which documents reflect was initially comprised of three organizations: the OLF (HLF), the IAP, and the UASR. CAIR was later added to these organizations. Govt. Exh. 3-78 (listing IAP, HLF, UASR and CAIR as part of the Palestine Committee, and stating that there is “[n]o doubt America is the ideal location to train the necessary resources to support the Movement worldwide . . .”). The mandate of these organizations, per the International Muslim Brotherhood, was to support HAMAS, and the HLF’s particular role was to raise money to support HAMAS’ organizations inside the Palestinian territories. Govt. Exh. 3- 17 (objective of the Palestine Committee is to support HAMAS).
No sane city would think Hamas-CAIR is a group that should be honored. If anything, Houston should be condemning Hamas-CAIR for opposing counterterror efforts, and honoring AFDI for standing up for freedom and individual rights. The fact that such an event is inconceivable is a measure of how far we have fallen, and how the left works to corrode and destroy everything that is good. Now subversive organizations are honored, and patriotic ones are hounded and vilified.

Sylvester Turner is a hard-core Democrat.
Houston Democrats LOVE to promote the idea that the Houston mayoral position is nonpartisan … ONLY because they don’t want Houstonians to know that they run Democrats for the position.
Unfortunately, Houston Republican candidates for the position go along with this BS.

Turner is either an idiot or, he is an intentional propagandist for CAIR. I suspect the latter. CAIR has been around in Texas a long time. Lots of affiliations with the liberal Democratic Party and it’s black members. Turner will next proclaim a Day for the Nation of Islam and Louis Farrakhan!

Once again, CAIR is howling at those blinded by their ignorance, or Mayor Sylvester alignment with CAIR’s mandate, terrorism, antisemitism, anti-Christian, anti-American the Islamization of America and a worldwide Caliphate. Oh, no, no, no. Houston, long-time bastion of conservatism, now overcome by the invasion of progressives seeking asylum from the results of their own socialist politics, no,no,no.
Worse yet, central to the montage decorating that misbegotten certificate, the Houston City Hall, where my father worked many years for that city ( and I remember it fondly from many visits).
I hate to admit it, but I have observed for many years the Californication of Houston, easy to recognize as I have been living for years in the formerly golden state of California. Now too late to move back.
