Mahmoud Al-Habbash, Advisor to Abbas: Men May Only Beat Their Wives When They Are Disobedient

Why wouldn’t al-Habbash say this? Consider the scores of videos, sermons and Islamic exhortations published here at GR from imams, Islamic preachers, sheikhs, et al, explaining the Islamic way, the proper way, to beat your wife.

The mandate to beat one’s wife is in the Qur’an and Hadith:

“Men have authority over women because Allah has made the one superior to the other, and because they spend their wealth to maintain them. Good women are obedient. They guard their unseen parts because Allah has guarded them. As for those from whom you fear disobedience, admonish them and send them to beds apart and beat them.” — Qur’an 4:34

Muhammad “struck me on the chest which caused me pain, and then said: Did you think that Allah and His Apostle would deal unjustly with you?” — Aisha (Sahih Muslim 2127) (Source)

Mahmoud Al-Habbash, who is an advisor to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, said that the only situation in which a man is ever permitted to beat his wife is when she is “being disobedient, crossing the line, [and] violating the sanctity of matrimony.” He said that even under these circumstances, the man may not hit his wife in the face or in a fashion that causes harm, injury, or excessive pain. He said that men must remember that their wives are partners rather than maids or slave girls. Al-Habbash was interviewed on Palestine TV (Palestinian Authority) on December 1, 2018.

Mahmoud Al-Habbash: The one and only situation – and it is very limited and very rare – in which a man is permitted to beat [his wife] in a manner that causes no harm, that leads to no injury, that avoids the face, and that does not cause much pain… It is only permitted when his wife is being disobedient, crossing the line, violating the sanctity of matrimony, and violating the sanctity of the household and the family. Other than that, any kind of beating, abusing, or cursing of one’s wife is haram. Men must realize that their wives are not maids or slave girls. They are their partners.

That one says this for propaganda purposes, an other Muhammadist says something else. Deception is a war-tactic by unjust Muhammad.
Furthermore any rule can be abrogated by for example the death-penalty law for apostasy from Muhammadism & slaves, African or female slaves are also part of unjust Muhammadism & are being tortured & killed from Saudi Arabia to Mauritania & Muhammadists are aware of this.
Hey, women according to Muhammad are not even allowed to have a clitoris.

democrats love to beat their women, and apparently their women love to be beaten. what else can explain the deafening silence from the democrat party with regard to islam on this issue? can you imagine the democrat howl-fest if a mormon elder or president of the southern baptist convention said this on tv?
