They throw the Jews but it’s nonsense. This does not offend, insult or marginalize Jews in any way. They throw the Jew in to disguise their real intent.
University of Wisconsin-Madison Students Say Ice Cream Marginalizes Muslim, Vegans
Students at the University of Wisconsin-Madison are arguing that the serving of ice cream in facilities like dining halls makes Muslims, Jewish, and vegan students feel unwelcome on campus.

Story continues below advertisementStudent council members at the University of Wisconsin-Madison are protesting the campus practice of serving ice cream, which often contains beef gelatin, an ingredient that makes the treat inaccessible to members of certain faiths and diets.
According to a new piece of legislation entitled “Ice Cream for All,” which was first reported on by Campus Reform, the student council argues that the university’s use of standard ice cream is discriminatory against members of the Muslim, Jewish, Hindu, and Buddhist religions — adding in vegetarian communities on campus as well. The legislation argues that the use of ice cream may make members of those communities feel unwelcome on campus.
“The reasons given for not changing the gelatins, in the name of ‘tradition,’ exclude Muslim, Buddhist, Hindu, Jewish, Vegetarian, and Vegan students from partaking in eating the official, campus wide, traditional ice cream that is often listed as part of the ‘Wisconsin experience,’” the legislation reads. “Symbolic issues like these have always and will always play a critical role in whether marginalized students and people feel welcome, included, and connected to their community,” it continues.
Astonishingly, the university already offers gelatin-free ice cream at the university ice cream shop, Babcock Dairy. Additionally, a University of Wisconsin-Madison spokesperson told Campus Reform that the campus already offers more than one ice cream option for students who can’t eat beef gelatin. The campus “produces and sells ‘super premium’ ice cream, sherbet and Greek frozen yogurt options that are made with a plant-based stabilizer and are gelatin-free.” The campus also offers a lactose-free ice cream for those with dairy allergies.
Despite this, the student council has demanded that school officials acknowledge that standard ice cream options marginalize religious students on campus. Ice cream is an iconic part of the culture in dairy-rich Wisconsin, perhaps making it a target for progressives on campus.

Although kosher laws are very strict concerning the segregation of milk and meat, the processing of these hides renders them pareve.” Even the strictest Lubavitcher can eat ice cream, made with beef gelatin.

I grew up with Jews who sacrificed a lot of opportunities, pay increases etc. because they would not work on their Sabbath day. Also, greatly limited their lives, contacts and social opportunities by keeping Kosher. Muslims want to impose their religion on everyone else.

Muslims saved us in one respect. All the hipster BDS types were going out for outlawing Jewish circumcision. It would have been a blow at the very heart of Jewish continuity. Only the fact that Muslims circumcise and Muslims are ‘brown’ made them drop the subject. However Muslim male circumcision is done much later in childhood and IS truly barbaric.

It’s not just Jews thrown in to hide their real intent. As a commenter on the Breitbart article pointed out, Vegans cannot eat any kind of ice cream, no matter what kind of gelatin is used, because it’s a dairy product.

In our early years (1950s to 60s), some families still could not afford the nominal tuition for Catholic schools. Guess the public schools were kind enough to serve fish for the few Catholics who attended there. There were five of us kids, our only sister being the youngest, and she did not like any of kind of fish. One Friday, the cafeteria served each a plate of a medium fish stick, macaroni & cheese, and spinach — and she did not like any of it 🙂

There were no Roman Catholic schools, in the fifties / sixties, in my rural area. Our Friday was fish stick day. Two fish sticks and a paper cup of tartar sauce. I, typically, carried my lunch … Friday was the day that I begged my parents to be able to eat a school lunch. What’s wrong with your sister? A kid that doesn’t eat fish sticks? Unheard of.

Can’t answer that. But she and my brother-in-law will celebrate their 50th in May 2019. Not only does she like a variety of foods, but she cooks some of the finest holiday meals. BTW, when they have cookouts, it seems that the brother-in-law had occasionally grilled such fish as halibut.

I’ll grill tuna, mahi, swordfish, and an occasional salmon. I’m not a big fan of fish, but …. fish sticks are another story. So, she’s at forty-nine years of wedded bliss. My poor saintly wife, this August past, had suffered forty-three years of wedded misery. Probably due to the fact that she likes fish.

Classic example of the Muslim supremacist mindset. Muslims are accustomed to living in Muslim majority countries and imposing their rules on everyone. Jews and vegans are used to being minorities. As a minority you learn to adapt, you look for the kosher or non-dairy alternatives or you make your own. What creeps me out is the idea that Muslims want to use democracy, the idea that if you get a majority, you can impose.

The Levitical laws of not mixing meat with milk do NOT apply to beef gelatin:

Moreover, over the years I have known many Buddhists …. at least those, that I know, all LOVE ice cream. I’m not Jewish, but I’ve never heard of Jewish people having a problem with ice cream. I understand Jewish dietary laws, yet I’ve never known a Jewish person openly being offended if I eat a BLT or a pork chop.

Bratwurst is the undeclared most famous of comfort, treat foods in Wisconsin. The Brat house was when I was there, the traditional Wisconsin food restaurant that was an emblem for the state and the University. If you were kosher, go buy kosher brats somewhere if you could find them but they didn’t exist as far as I knew. No legislation was needed to heal the differences then, because there was no need then to heal anything.
Now… they fracture everything and everyone. And if your rigorously kosher you don’t go around feeling abused. And if your Hindu you don’t go around feeling abused or neglected either.
It’s only the leftists, and the muslims, who get to proclaim the fractured feelings that we all must heal….. or else.

I do not care who is “marginalized” by what I eat. It is my choice. If I want to eat meat, I don’t care if you are a Vegen. That is your problem and you have no business trying to convince me to do what you do, on religious grounds. If the Muslims won’t eat ice cream, the Ice Cream business won’t suffer, as I will eat an extra portion.
The trouble with America is people telling other people not to do something, even though it is not against the law or more’s of the people. This is all petty crap, and this is a fault the latest generation of kids have yet to learn. If you don’t like something, that is your choice, but don’t be critical of people who do like it.

The answer from the University should be a very loud NO! If they are given other alternatives then there is no exclusion! It is going way to far to take it from the thousands more who enjoy this western treat as an enjoyable experience. The student council need a class in understanding that if these students attend a western university then they must understand that there will be a lot of things that will be a part of that experience that they must refrain from!
What will they try to ban next frat houses, alcohol, cheerleaders etc etc

Um. Aren’t vegan marginalized here either way? I mean the vegan I know don’t eat or use animal products. So even with the beef gelatin removed, doesn’t the milk based cream count as an animal product. So either the vegans are still marginalized or they aren’t really vegans.
