President Trump threatens to hit Turkey with sanctions if it doesn’t release Christian pastor imprisoned on false charges

16

At last we have an American President. The American pastor Andrew Brunson has been in prison in Turkey on terrorism charges that are obviously bogus. The Obama administration, true to form when dealing with Obama’s closest friend among world leaders, the arrogant and bellicose neo-caliph Recep Tayyip Erdogan, did nothing. But now President Trump is moving decisively to secure his freedom. Brunson is from North Carolina. He has been in jail in Turkey since October 2016. He and his wife had lived in Turkey for the last 23 years and were working out of a Christian church in Izmir — that was their real crime, being active Christians in a rapidly re-Islamizing country.

“President Trump threatens to hit Turkey with sanctions if it doesn’t release Christian pastor,” by Mike Ciandella, The Blaze, July 26, 2018 (thanks to RN):

President Donald Trump tweeted on Thursday that the United States would “impose large sanctions” against Turkey for its imprisonment of Christian pastor Andrew Brunson. Vice President Mike Pence made a similar announcement at a religious freedom event earlier in the day….

Trump tweeted that Turkey would face “large” sanctions for its treatment of Brunson, whom he described as “a great Christian, family man and wonderful human being.”

At a State Department-hosted religious freedom event, Pence declared:

To President Erdogan and the Turkish government, I have a message on behalf of the president of the United States of America: release Pastor Andrew Brunson now or be prepared to face the consequences.

With respect to Turkey, Trump should seriously consider:

1) Stopping the sale of F-35’s;

2) Kicking them out of NATO, or at least limiting their participation in some significant way.

If only the Turks could have been converted to Christianity. Then probably there would be much less serious problems today.

President Trump has better reasons for falling out with the new Turkish despot than this chaps fate, it’s not been reported on here yet but Erdogan has just refused to comply with Trumps Iranian oil boycott. A flat refusal.

That alone but coupled with the warmongering rhetoric against Israel SHOULD result in the cancellation of the deal to supply F35’s to the Turks.

Somebody in Washington needs to wakey wakey PDQ, history and tradition matter over there in the Eastern Med.

Love it: “At last we have an American President.” What does this imply about the predecessor?

Turkey has been trying to play a game of playing both ends against the middle where the US and Russia are concerned and he lost on this round. Brunson is merely being held as a bargaining chip against the deportation of a Turkish cleric in PA that Erdogan fraudulently claims was responsible for that phony “coup” attempt.

Remember, during WWI, Turkey sided with the Germans who got their asses kicked, bringing down the Ottoman empire in the process.

Pastor Bruson will probably die of natural causes in a Turkish prison by exsanguination. It’s a common malady among the kafir al najjis in Turkey.
