Muslim stalks, threatens to kidnap Christian woman, authorities look the other way in Pakistan

19

I recently received this email from a courageous Geller Report reader who had just returned from Pakistan. The harrowing story he tells of “Sherry” is, unfortunately, all too typical. In the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the police share the violent and supremacist worldview of people such as the Muslim stalker described here, and they will never side with members of the despised Christian minority against their fellow Muslims. So the Christians have no recourse, no defender, no way to get justice. And of course the world “human rights community” is too busy hunting for instances of “islamophobia” to take any notice of the plight of this poor woman and others like her. Future historians will look back at the silence of Western authorities on cases such as this one and excoriate our “leaders” for their cowardice.

Dear Ms. Geller,

I recently read your book “Fatwa” and I developed newfound respect for what you’re doing. There was a time in my life when I opposed many of your stances, but now, I have woken up to the truth. I’ve studied Islam thoroughly and I now understand what it truly teaches. I’ve likewise learned to see the hypocrisy of the Radical Left. I want to take this moment to say thank you for doing what you’re doing. You’re very brave.

I just completed a missionary trip to Pakistan to help their persecuted Christian minority. I’ve befriended a pastor who lives over there and I feel that I must help. I’ve learned recently that he is sheltering several people whose lives are in danger. One is a young woman whose life is under threat after a Muslim man began harassing her and threatening her. In that country, one cannot go to the police for help. Another man was accused of disrespecting the Qur’an and was threatened with arrest. He and his family had to flee their village as this could get them killed due to the country’s blasphemy laws. I interviewed a number of individuals and families who have been persecuted for their faith in Pakistan. Others that I interviewed are enslaved in brick kilns.

I’ve already had death threats sent to me through social media, so I now only keep my Facebook profile open to my friends. I also want to keep my information private in case the Pakistani government gets wind of what I’m doing. They may prevent me from getting another visa to go back and may even prevent me from sending funds over to my friend, so I have to be cautious. In the meantime, I’ll tell you a story of a young girl I met. She is in hiding so for her safety, I covered her face and mine, and I changed her name.

The young girl you see in the pictures is “Sherry.” She is 17 years old. Three months ago, she was walking to school and a Muslim man began stalking her and said he wanted to marry her. He told her that if she refused, he would kidnap her. Shortly afterward, “Sherry” contacted a trusted friend and he took her to a place to hide. To keep “Sherry” safe, her family has not been told where she is hiding. This is because if they know, they may be pressured into giving her up. A short time after “Sherry” went into hiding, the same Muslim man who stalked her came to her parents’ home with a knife and attacked her father. This Muslim threatened to kill him and “Sherry” unless he gave her up. “Sherry” can no longer go to her home or her school because this man is still threatening her family. Her family went to the police, but they are prejudicial and corrupt. They first demanded money to take action, even though the family is very poor. After being paid by “Sherry’s” family, the police did nothing.

“Sherry” was studying to become a beautician, but she can no longer go to school, and she cannot go home. As I spoke with her, she began crying and said that Christmas was near, and all she wanted was to be with her family on Christmas, but she couldn’t. Her entire future has been destroyed. She and her family want to relocate to another place, but they don’t know where to go, and they may not have to means to leave. Despite her suffering, she wants to go out and help other Christians who are also suffering for their faith, Christians like the recent victims of the Quetta church bombing. This bombing happened on the very day I was on the plane flying home. My contact went out to help the bombing victims, “Sherry” wanted to go and help too, but my contact said it was too dangerous for him to take her.

Right now my contact in Pakistan wants to send her to a beauty school that also has a hostel where she can stay. If she goes there, she can complete her education within 6 months to one year. Once completing this, she may be able to take care of herself. The only problem we have is funding. The tuition cost is $150 a month, and the admission fee is $500. My contact may be able to assist her in her boarding fees and food, but I am not certain. My own personal funds are limited. I can send some funds every month, but my contact is helping many other people as well. This is why I’m trying to contact different organizations and go to different churches so I can obtain some funding to help people like her.

Sadly, “Sherry’s” case is not unique. Many Christian women in Pakistan live with this kind of danger.

Thank you again. I greatly appreciate all of your help.
