Disclosure of the program’s existence triggered two federal lawsuits. The NYPD agreed to greater oversight of its intelligence-gathering operations this year in an attempt to settle one of the suits. Who is in charge of oversight? Terror-tied CAIR? The department discontinued the surveillance program in 2014.
The New York Police Department is shuttering a controversial, once-secret unit devoted to surveillance of local Muslim communities.
“Our administration has promised the people of New York a police force that keeps our city safe, but that is also respectful and fair,” New York City Democratic Mayor Bill de Blasio said in a statement. “This reform is a critical step forward in easing tensions between the police and the communities they serve, so that our cops and our citizens can help one another go after the real bad guys.”
Story continues below advertisementAs a candidate, de Blasio had said that “we need to do a full review of all surveillance efforts, and anything that is not based on specific leads should not continue.”
For years, my organization has urged the monitoring of mosques tied to jihad terror.
- AFDI calls for immediate investigation into foreign mosque funding in the West and for new legislation making foreign funding of mosques in non-Muslim nations illegal.
- AFDI calls for surveillance of mosques and regular inspections of mosques in the U.S. and other non-Muslim nations to look for pro-violence materials. Any mosque advocating jihad or any aspects of Sharia that conflict with Constitutional freedoms and protections should be closed.
New York Mayor de Blasio was instrumental in dismantling counter terror initiatives in this city.

“…go after the real bad guys.” But since all Mohammedans are real bad guys, and there is no way to differentiate between them before attack would occur, that quoted policy of de Blasio is unenforceable. Subsequently, if de Blasio would have any decency, after recent attack (and utter failure of his policies) he should resign!

DeBlasio (allegedly) IS an enabler, collaborator, co-conspirator, and accessory to the act. If an average citizen were to invite over a person or groups who did something like this, discredit suspicions of law enforcement, dismiss victims allegorically as “consequence of what their privilege represents”, and offer nothing more than “prayers and vigilance” for their circumstances- they would be held accountable in some way, or scrutinized with extreme suspicion…

The perpetrator of the massacres wanted his affiliation to IS to be known. He was proud of that fact, and left a picture of their flag and some notes supposedly. In addition he yelled out the famous words that now we are used to hearing in these matters.
This man appears to be a jihadist and connected to IS., or so it appears at this time. Bottom line is that everyone knows, most do not speak the truth at this time, but everyone knows.

Once again I will simply point out that the voters of New York elected this disgusting man to become mayor, and now they have the consequences. And yesterday listening on tv to Governor Quoma, Mayor de Blasio and the Deputy chief of the NYPD, it’s evident that no one should expect anything of substance to occur. Once again not one of these disgusting politically correct excuses for ‘men’ could bring themselves to use the words ‘Muslim’, Muslim terrorist’, ‘Islam’, ‘Jihad’. To do so, as we perceive from ding-bat Quomo, it would be divisive – as if Muslims generally care about their group creating division. The whole thing is pathetic. The U.S. and West are hopelessly served in this war with Islam.

In my opinion, surveillance of mosques is a pure waste of time. Since Islam is not a religion but a lifestyle, it is logic that people do not only pray inside there but also meet to plot new attacks, because teaching and spreading hate to everything non-muslim is an integral part for everybody following this lifestyle. Mosques are the number one spot where the danger comes from, because there is nothing but hate coming out of there. This explains why there is always increasing trouble and security problems in countries where new mosques are popping up. The biggest mistake was simply allowing a mosque to be built and/or opened at all. The solution is very easy: no muslims, no mosques, no hate, no terror attacks, no problems, no trouble.

Japan monitors the minority Muslim population and they have had no Muslim terrorist attacks.

Why have federal agencies if they can’t do their job? (Not that I believe in them). Close them down and with the money saved give it to their victims, setup a college fund, free job training, weapons training center, give huge gift cards, etc.

Any country has a right and a duty to protect itself and its citizens. If the laws appear ludicrous, they can be challenged. The government should have the right to monitor situations that they deem unsafe. The left has brainwashed many in this country, battering it with their PC nonsense, passing laws the benefit the criminals or the individual at the expense of the community at large. This stupidity would never be allowed in Turkey, SA., Iran, any ME country. The progressives have brought the western world to a precarious place, or so it seems to me.
This man and his team shouldn’t have been in this country. I don’t care if they are/were/will be citizens six times over. They hated this country and it’s people or hey would not have so cowardly murdered them. No ne was bothering them, no one cares how they lived in their countries of origin, what they practiced, what they did, and how they did it. September 11 was the fuse. And they don’t stop, all over the world, because what they themselves will tell you their scope, their reasoning, their sole purpose, and it is what is known, whether people discuss it, or do not wish to do so, or do not wish to tell the truth. It is world domination, and if I am wrong to think this, then please tell me how I am wrong.
It didn’t have to be like this. People who are so very polar opposite to a land and a culture where they plan to go, should not leave from whence they hail. Your not very good at being citizens of the US now, are you Badr. In fact I would say that you are more an enemy of the state, along with all muslims that don’t support the Constitution of the US and desire the implementation of Sharia. I don’t believe for one minute that none of the members that use this mosque were unaware that this guy increasingly getting more radical.
If anyone cares to look at statistic, how many jihadist attacks happen in the 60’s and 70’s?
