Police in Pakistan have arrested eight men for parading a 14-year-old through a village naked in connection with a dispute over family honour.
Story continues below advertisementThe girl was abducted by the gang on October 27 before she was stripped down and forced to run through the streets of Garahmat village in Dera Ismail Khan.
It is claimed the girl’s brother had been having an affair. When the village council found out they ruled the scorned wife’s family could hit back by punishing the alleged adulterer’s sister.

The girl’s family initially claimed the girl was taken to a house, beaten up and stripped by nine people, but later retracted the statement on Monday, according to DAWN.
She was with three of her cousins on the morning of October 27 walking to a local pond to fetch water when she was snatched.
Police are still hunting one suspect, but the other eight appeared before a judge on Wednesday.
Family honor is a sensitive issue in Muslim-majority Pakistan, where nearly 1,000 women are killed by their relatives each year for violating conservative norms on love and marriage.
Village councils have been accused of settling family disputes without involving the judicial system, leading to the abuse of vulnerable relatives.
Just three months ago, members of a village council in Pakistan were arrested for ordering the revenge rape of a teenager because her brother had sexually assaulted a 12-year-old girl in a field.

The arrests, which included the man who allegedly committed the ‘revenge rape’, brings the total number detained to 18, a police source confirmed.
A jirga – or village council – in a suburb of the central city of Multan had ordered the rape of the 16-year-old girl as a punishment, after her brother sexually assaulted a 12-year-old.
She was dragged to the meeting in Rajpur and the horrific retaliation was carried out in front of her parents and the 40 men on the council.

I agree, the Muslims’ rewriting of our history is perverse by leaps and bounds but in time, our American educators will catch-up. It’s very clear that these people have values and customs that are painully incompatible with our own. The elites in both parties that seek to inundate us with third world types know that will result in erasing traditional American culture. They pretend not to understand this. A repuslive comment from a repugnant individual. Islam has many repugnant practices, and Pakistan is high on the list of most odious govenments in the world. Undoubtedly, Pakistanis have a rather different sense of honor than you do. But to tar with such a broad brush an entire nation (or 98% of them) with such an unsubstantiated charge as you made simply shows what a very limited, and even disgusting person you are.

My Pakistani friend who is now an apostate, left the faith of Islam when his parents arranged the marriage for his 6 month old daughter, she was to be married to a currently 40 year old man. Thankfully he loves his daughter more than his faith, as he is now in hiding from his own family out of fear they will abduct his daughter, or slaughter his wife and daughter for him not believing that a 6 month old she preordained to marry a pedophile.
I do find it amazing that after all the things he told me that he learned in mosques from Brooklyn, Pakistan, Canada, Mecca and places inbetween, that this was the straw the broke the proverbial camel’s back.

I never heard of grandparents having the right to give their grandchildren away in marriage. Is that part of Pakistani tradition? I guess, within sharia, the parents always have the right to kill their children, so given that, it’s not a long remove to imagine they could have that kind of control over grandchildren.
FWIW, I’ve known Paks that I am confident would be appalled at what those grandparents schemed to do.

I think many Moslems do not accept “all of Islam”, but their ancestral tradition retains a hold on them (the death to apostates rule undoubtedly encourages them to retain their allegiance). For example, Reza Khalili, in his excellent book, A Time to Betray stated that when he was young, he interpreted the more violent or excreable passages of the Koran in a “figurative” manner. He abhored the abuses of the regime of the mullahs, even if many Moslems would claim their actions are in accord with sharia law and Shia tradition.
To the extent that Moslems do not accept all of Islam, you might reasonably claim they are not observant Moslems. As the example of Khalil shows, they might see it very differently. Few are the startlingly independent minds like Anni Cyrus who never bought the ideological claptrap they were fed from the time they were born. Anni has paid a rather high personal price for her independent mind and spirit, including broken bones and losing contact with her family: I don’t think it reasonable to expect many people will venture to pay that price.

I agree, When I had the talk with my co worker, I did not realize he was devout, until he told me he no longer was, and needed to move away from his family for fear for his and his families lives, and from there the talk got more and more tragic about why he was not devout, like he did not think he had to kill jews/infidels in America, but after his pilgrimage to Mecca he found out that is what is expected of him to be a true muslim.

If the family is in Pakistan they are subject to local laws. Shariah law is an entirely different beast from the laws of the west. If he is an apostate from Islam, his family now has the right (some even see it as duty) to kill him. Attacking them in return might give him a temporary sense of justice, but the reality is, it would only “start” a never ending cycle of violence.

David has done debates, and exposed some odd teachings, and many dangerous teachings, etc. Many Muslims have left Islam because of his ministry.

Because women are seen as basically ‘life support for a vagina and womb”. They are not allowed a personality or to be considered human. BUT, their privates are the concern of all their male relatives.. Guarding her virginity from other men than her family is their number one priority.. It is shaming to a family if a girl is seen as “impure”. That is why raping a girl from a family that offended you is deeply shaming.
