College asks NYPD to use bathrooms out of sight from students
Campus Reform, November 20, 2017:
- Brooklyn College is advising New York City police officers to use bathrooms on the far end of campus in order to avoid being seen by students who might be offended by their presence.
- Several weeks ago, students attended a screening of a film about NYPD’s surveillance of Muslim students as part of its counterterrorism efforts.
- Brooklyn College is advising New York City police officers to use bathrooms on the far end of campus in order to avoid being seen by students who might be offended by their presence.
- The Excelsior, the college’s student newspaper, reported last week that Director of Public Safety Donald Wenz would “prefer” if members of the New York Police Department (NYPD) used facilities in the West End Building (WEB) “rather than walking across either quad to use the bathroom.”
“I know students from every background and across every major. They don’t feel comfortable around cops…It makes safe spaces feel not so safe.”

Wenz’s comments come in the wake of a film screening of the movie “Watched,” which documents an NYPD informant who surveilled Muslim students on campus for a period of four years as part of the city’s counterterrorism efforts. After the screening, students were allowed to share their thoughts on having NYPD officers on campus.
“I disagree with them being on campus. Especially allowing them to use the building where student groups are held,” one unidentified student remarked, according to The Excelsior, later noting that he would be sending a petition to College President Michelle Anderson, pressuring her to issue a statement “that we do not want the NYPD on campus in any respect even if it’s just to take breaks and use bathrooms.”
After discovering The Excelsior’s report, The New York Post took a trip to the WEB, where officers are now encouraged to use the bathroom, and found an “out of order” sign on the stall door, with a dirty and broken toilet on the inside.
“The bathroom is horrendous. You can only wash your hands in one of the sinks because the other two are broken,” one student told the Post, though others argued that NYPD should not be allowed on campus at all.
“I know students from every background and across every major. They don’t feel comfortable around cops. They just don’t. It makes safe spaces feel not so safe,” one unidentified student remarked, with another telling the Post that it’s “weird” seeing cops on campus.
But members of the NYPD who monitor the neighborhood surrounding the school told the Post that the student sentiments are “insane.”
“That protester culture is warping their f***ing minds,” one officer remarked, with NYPD sergeants-union chief Ed Mullins telling students to “go take classes abroad, where they can have their bathrooms all to themselves.”
Wenz, however, stood by the directive, explaining that “we prefer” were the “key words” in his statement.
“If police are seen walking across the quad, some may interpret that as an emergency going on,” he explained.

More likely that said students are carrying illegal drugs and selling drugs in the bathrooms. All the more reason why the police should be using the bathrooms.

Thanks again Pamela for telling us what many others don’t have the courage to.The disdain and disgust that the left has for the police is so thick you can cut it with a knife. If you call a commie turd on it, the weasel will probably deny it and try to weasel out. That’s what weasels do, right? In a similar fashion they make remarks daily disparaging America, white folks, males, and any expression of faith or patriotism. Their words and behavior are clearly apparent to anyone who is looking and listening, yet they will deny it with a straight face. This is how the left operates. Treachery and deceit are not just part of their playbook, they are the main focus. The Republican leadership pretends not to notice the obvious because it doesn’t want to offer any real opposition to the left. The left, in working to destroy conservatives and patriots are doing the work of the RINOs for them, and so no opposition will be offered. I walk past at least one gun toter every day I go to work. Yeah, I wish it weren’t necessary, but I’d rather they were there than not. Fortunately, they are well trained. Grow up, punk.

PARENTS should drain the swamp colleges…….Trump can’t stop people from sending them there…..but he can work to stop taxpayer dollars going there…..as long as the “milk” is free to the colleges they don’t care about it getting misused.
College tuition has gone to ridiculous levels……the colleges suck taxpayer dollars from us while sitting on millions and billions in their coffers……many “professors” now make more money filling their heads with garbage…than most Physicians realize each year…..If we quit allowing our government to send money to these colleges….the cost of education would come down and the professors will have to learn to live like the rest of us……

Agree completely. But I would go further. Parents should raise the issue with the politicizing of the education. NO POLITICS SHOULD BE PUSHED FROM ANY SIDE OF THE AISLE. Unless it’s a Political Science major. Even in this case, professors must be neutral. We don’t need Goebbels leftists propaganda for our kids. They will figure out their point of view themselves. The idiots-professors MUST BE INSTRUCTED AT THE TIME OF THEIR ADMITTANCE AT COLLEGE, THAT THEY MUST SHUT UP
AND TEACH ONLY THEIR SUBJECT. THEY GET PAY (TOO MUCH) for this. WE DON’T NEED EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES SUCH AS A CONSTANT BRAINWASHING FOR OUR KIDS FOR OUR TAXPAYERS MONEY. Its time to start raising this question.

It is imperative that you immediately disenroll from your classes and voluntary admit yourself to the nearest state hospital for shock therapy. Normal people cannot go about their lives when there are such fragile snowflakes in our midst that witnessing someone enter a bathroom causes a psychotic episode.

To facilitate the students who are uncomfortable using lavatory facilities in the presence of the police, install privacy screens around large trays of kitty litter, for the comfort and convenience of these student imbeciles. Don’t forget the “pooper scooper” so they can clean up after themselves, which will be a new experience for all of them.

These corn flakes that are “discomforted” but seeing a policeman are in for a rude shock when they got out in the world and discover all sorts of things have considerable potential for causing personal discomfort, that they will have to deal with. Those who are uncomfortable should be removed from the school altogether. Police should always have a free pass to go wherever they please (within reason on modesty issues). I could care less what an uncomfortable person feels – their feelings don’t outrank my safety.
