Firefighters were scrambled to Pinner High Street in the borough of Harrow to deal with a car fire
The car was just metres away from a children’s ride in the high street
No injuries were reported and the fire was under control by 7pm.
The Metropolitan Police had no record of the incident but a London Fire Brigade spokeswoman said they were sent to a car fire just before 6pm and left the scene after an hour.

“The vehicle had simply overheated which ultimately caused the fire. It did not explode. The driver had just dropped off his Mother who was helping on one of the Charity Stalls. Thankfully, it was in a place where we could contain it and our Emergency Plan worked as intended in conjunction with the Police and the Fire Brigade.”
Hi, Indigo Red. I’ve seen many the car overheat. I was driving one when a water pump blew (many, many years ago). Overheated so badly that it cracked the block and the heads were shot. Never saw, or even heard of, an overheated automobile bursting into flames.
Oh, that’s too bad. You’ve missed quite a show. I watched my uncle’s Citroen overheat and burst into flames in the driveway when I was a kid. Pretty exciting; uncle and dad didn’t think so, though.
The type of car is irrelevent and it wasn’t stated in the article. We know tthree things: an internal combustion automobile burned; you’ve never scene an overheated car burn; I have.
I have seen automobiles burn. I have seen many, many, many cars overheat. I have never seen a car burst into flames, due to overheating. And, I am very certain that you have seen a car, from a simple overheating burst into flames. And, I am the rightful heir to the throne of Scotland.

Lets start with coolant-Basically coolant is nothing but the mixture of Monoethylene Glyco (MEG) and Water. These are the major components and there is a small quantity of few other chemicals to enhance its property. Those are as follows:
– Scale inhibitors which prevent and remove the formation of scale (which can be common where poor quality water is used).
– Antifoam ingredients which prevent the formation of bubbles and aeration and which is key to minimizing pitting corrosion.
– Dyes to differentiate coolant types. There are a number of conventions of coolant dyes based on the technology types.
– Bitterant (or denaturing fluids) which limit the likelihood of accidental ingestion of the coolant fluid.
None of the above substance is flammable.
So, answer of the question- coolant is not flammable.
Moreover, since anti-freeze is, typically, mixed with water on a 50/50 basis .. .the next thing that you’ll be attempting to state is that water is flammable.

Actually, coolant is Ethylene Glycol, Water, Diethylene Glycol, 2-Ethyl Hexanoic Acid, and Sodium Salt. Except for the water and sodium salt, all of the ingredients have a flash point when in contact with flames.
The car in question also contained gasoline, oil, steering and brake fluids, plastics, and various other petroleum distilates.

In Canada, the glycol water mix typical for automotive use is 50% water, 50% glycol as glycol by itself will gel at excessively cold temperatures, it also does not have the heat absorbency of water, which is why for cold weather, a mixture is mandatory. It is very unlikely the vehicle had pure glycol in it.

I’m retired now but I have been to numerous car fires (bad electrics, rags left on the engine, burnt-out twocs etc). It can be explosive when the petrol tank eventually goes up, but that can take a long time. It doesn’t happen spontaneously. I didn’t hear about this. Maybe Trump should put it on Twitter.

It is very difficult to believe that a car overheated to the point that it would burst into flames that way. As the birtisnstinain government is based on islam, which is founded of lies, this is simply a public information bulletin brought to the public by the islamic propagation and apologist department of the grovelling of britanistan.
Keeping your radiator and cooling system in working order is very important. Make sure to get your radiator cleaned and flushed once every two years or this could happen to your car!
It would-be very nice to hear from a competent honest mechanic who examined the vehicle as to what actually happened. From personal experience, as over the years I have owned about 24 of my own vehicles, plus company ones, I have never had nor seen one burn up that way. It could have happened, but I sort of doubt it.
Actually I did know some brothers in high school who managed to set their car engine on fire. What really made it interesting is when they opened the hood and the flames shot out like a blast furnace. I think in their case it was a leaking or burst fuel hose and the car didn’t explode in any way.
That’s what they thought happened. They had rebuilt the 4-barrel carb on their nice old firebird recently. They could leave 5 yards of rubber down if they stomped down on the gas pedal hard enough from a dead stop and lot’s of smoke.
May will probably blame it on Britain First. The woman is mental and a disgrace to her country, along with all the left wing PC imbeciles that occupy the government.

How many cars have you seen just up and explode, for no apparent reason? Just happened to be parked at a Christmas fair… btw: These jihadist bombers are not necessarily competent. Think about it. Perhaps two out of every three bombing attempts fail, so the fact that this one failed to kill anybody doesn’t indicate it wasn’t deliberate. I bet it had a canister of gas in that car.
