Vanity Fair: “Milo Yiannopoulos’s Fyre-Festival Free Speech Week Is Canceled, Says Everyone but Milo”

62

They’re pinning this on Milo when this is an abject failure of UC-Berkeley. They’re blaming Milo for their failure and their cowardice. The free speech movement of 1964 was a revolt, and it heralded the most serious attack on academic freedom in American history. We are witnessing the poison fruit of that now.

“Milo Yiannopoulos’s grandiose promises of a Free Speech Week at U.C. Berkeley, the campus where his last visit ended in riots and destruction, supposedly involving right-wing media heavyweights like Steve Bannon and Ann Coulter, has been falling apart spectacularly over the past few weeks.”
Grandiose? Is the idea of free speech now “grandiose”?
Vanity Fair implies that the riots and destruction were his fault. It’s like blaming the Jews for the Nazi animus against them.

“Milo Yiannopoulos’s Fyre-Festival Free Speech Week Is Canceled, Says Everyone but Milo,” by Tina Nguyen, Vanity Fair, September 22, 2017:

Milo Yiannopoulos’s grandiose promises of a Free Speech Week at U.C. Berkeley, the campus where his last visit ended in riots and destruction, supposedly involving right-wing media heavyweights like Steve Bannon and Ann Coulter, has been falling apart spectacularly over the past few weeks. High-profile speakers either mysteriously disappeared from the lineup, or publicly stated that they had never been invited in the first place. Berkeley and Yiannopoulos’s new media company, Milo Inc., got in public spats over whether paperwork had been filled out in time. And even the event’s participants were left in the dark over simple logistical issues, such as where they were staying or when they were getting there.

Story continues below advertisement

The Fyre Festival–esque confusion deepened on Friday, when members of the Berkeley Patriot told KQED that Free Speech Week was canceled, confirming numerous suspicions among the far right that the event was too disorganized to continue….

I’d warned few days back its not worth having this without adequate security when you are holding this in Left/Liberal run area. …..or it’ll end up like charlottesville fiasco.

As expected the Left/liberal pro-jihadi mafia had already started their smear campaign by calling participants “racist” ” bigots” etc.

Here’s Hilarious fake news CNN style “Trump steals food from black kid” and some great info too http://bit.ly/2wFirQA

You have to get smarter to counter the Left/jihadi mafia.

MILO put out a vid on his YT channel where his supporters put up signs all over Berkley, which was fancy, but they covered up others postings on the outdoor bulletin board. That’s covering up others right to convey information. I hope his event goes off successfully, but he should have asked for volunteers to defend his right to free speech, not hired people. Would have got more applications than what could have been gone through, and would have been a better public message. IMHO

LOL.
What’s sick is that in Afghanistain a group of belly dancers were machine-gunned for being un-islamic, but boys dancing, even when dressed and made-up as provocative women, isn’t.

I’ve been trying to find out when this craven fear of women began. I mean you cage or chain something if you fear it, right ? Originally societies were matriarchal, from all the pagan goddesses, warrior queens, sagas, etc. “It has been a commonplace that Islam has improved the position of women ” Commonplace, really ? The ( Islamic ) argument being , it was much worse under Arab tribal rules. So they limited polygamy to 4, prohibited female infanticide, gave women a smidgeon of inheritance rights. Apparently women themselves perpetuate the belief “women cannot live up to the moral code. ” Whose moral code? Mohammed’s ? But of course, the extremes, like paedophilia, abuse of women, forced conversion, killing ,are perversions by separate cultures. Brilliant isn’t it ? They are all united , one Ummah when convenient–eg.feeling insulted, vengeful. But departmentalised when it is not. And the dhimmis dutifully chant that.

Now Denis, some times you are right and sometimes half right and sometimes just plain dead wrong. First, proud Maronite Christian, , second loved my dog that died. Why call me the son of a dog Denis? Do you fear me with that deep emotional mind of yours? You are not a rational person Denis. It is possible that with my knowledge of these problems of yours, that it would be of great value to you emotionally to have me help you, but you insist on throwing out these mindless outburst’s like a person with Turrets syndrome. So it will be overlooked for now. As they say in the South, “Poor Thang.”

Actually, I am not an Arab. Descendant of the Canaanites’, Later called Phoenicians, the sailors of open ocean and world travelers and those that built Carthage and even here in America are found writings etc. Enclosing a good article, so you will have a better understanding of my ancestry Denis. My cousins uncle saw an article about stone carvings with writing on they found in New England area, that they could not decipher. He said he could translate it, and did went on to lecture at some of the universities. Yes the Phoenicians were in the New World. http://lebanonism.com/lebwp/?p=1742

Denis in the past, around 1905, when my fathers father came through Ellis Island to flee the Turks or stay and be killed, they were thrilled to escape with their lives. When here, they worked in and around Pittsburgh and the steel mills, the tin mills etc. They were proud to be Americans. In the home, they spoke English. Growing up as a child, can remember that this country came first. All my uncles, father, cousins went to war in WW2 and were proud to serve. Lost one. They were safe and had been taken in and they were loyal to that flag. My grandfather , I can remember, never saw his mother again. Occasionally he would get a letter from his family in Lebanon, and would carry that letter around with him and have my mother read it to him over and over. Could see the pain in him, the loss of his family in leaving for a better life. To this day, it is painful to think about him and his loss. My thoughts on Lebanon are these. It is the home of my ancestors who contributed much to the civilization we have today. They are a people of peace, and it has over the centuries brought them much heartache. In the 67 war with Israel, Lebanon was the only country that did not fight Israel. In my youth, never once was a word spoken against the Jews. No Denis, , if for nothing else , I just use that flag as a reminder to others of the plight of these folks still under the gun in the home of my ancestors.

You are for a 1000% right, but I am sorry I don’t get what you mean with “LULZ,”
“LULKOEK” * in Dutch (pronounced more or less “”lulkook” with the “u” like in French) is the equivalent of “b.s.”
If you were against theocracies, tyrannies, the oppresion of women, etc. you would be considered a “leftist” in the old days. There is an extreme left wing miniparty called “International Socialists” that has a Dutch chapter, they try to sell teir rags at the markets on busy Saturdays and parade carrying posters with the text in enormous letters: “DON’T TOUCH THE ISLAM!”(Handen af van de islam!)
As far as theocracies are concerned, I have never heard of a single one where G-d Himself presides and appoints ministers and civil servants and as far as islamic satrapies go, atheists are among the first to be butchered. Fellow traveller socialists and communists are not so popular with the ayatollahs, sultans and caliphs (to put it mildly…)
With best wishes,
Harrie Mossel

* the Dutch word LUL designates the male reproductive organ, we use it like it is used in English to designate
a fool, “a prick.” Curiously, the French use the word “con” which is exactly the opposite.
Therefore, politicians who welcome mass muslim immigration are “pricks” in English and “cons” in
French.
