Celine Dookhran, 19, was said to have been killed after starting a relationship with an Arab Muslim man.
A recent survey showed that 91 percent of honor killings worldwide are committed by Muslims, and 84 percent of honor killings in the United States were done by Muslims. This is no surprise. A manual of Islamic law approved by Al-Azhar, the most respected authority in Sunni Islam, stipulates that “retaliation is obligatory…against anyone who kills a human being purely intentionally and without right.” However, “not subject to retaliation” is “a father or mother (or their fathers or mothers) for killing their offspring, or offspring’s offspring.” In other words, Islamic law sets no penalty for a parent who kills his child. Also, the legal codes of Jordan, Syria, and other Muslim countries have substantially reduced penalties for honor murders as compared to other murders, and Islamic clerics have resisted efforts to stiffen penalties for honor killings. A teenager had her throat cut before she was placed in a freezer in a suspected “honour killing”, an inquest has heard.
a 19-year-old Indian Muslim, was reportedly in a relationship with an Arab Muslim, who she was planning to marry – a situation which is said to have angered some members of her family.
Her body was found inside a £1.5m property in Kingston-upon-Thames, after police were notified by a second woman who was also a victim of the attack, West London Coroners Court, heard.
The second victim escaped with stab or slash wounds after a terrifying kidnap ordeal which began when two masked men allegedly dragged her from the shower in her Wimbledon home.

The inquest into Ms Dookhran’s death was opened and adjourned pending an ongoing police investigation, according to the Daily Mail. There was no confirmation of when the inquest would recommence.
In a statement, Ms Dookhran’s family paid tribute to “an amazingly talented and loving daughter”.
