— The Council on American Islamic Relations of Michigan (CAIR-MI) staff recently met with Dearborn Public Schools Superintendent Brian Whiston to discuss concerns from some parents regarding prayer accommodations in Dearborn Public Schools.Dearborn Public Schools has implemented a policy which fully accommodates student-led
prayer in all the schools, as well as unexcused absences for students who leave early on Fridays for Jumu’ah prayers.CAIR-MI is currently in discussion with Melvindale Public Schools to get similar accommodations for students that are now in place for Dearborn Public Schools.

Unbelievable! Christian rights have been stripped from schools…rights that have been held for since the birth of our country and we are supposed to accommodate Muslim rights? Where’s the ACLU on this issue? No where to be found no doubt.

I just got off the phone with Dearborn Public Schools Superintendent Brian Whiston. We discussed the State Policy that his district adheres to that allows for student led prayer in schools. This is open to any student group and only in free time as not to infringe on school time. He said it is the SAME law that was in place when he carried his Bible to school and joined a Christian prayer group when he was a kid. Once again what you are promoting is a skewed version of the truth to demonize a sect of our society. You should be ashamed to post crap like this. It is not only dishonest but UNPATRIOTIC. Check your sources. Have some sort of filter. It was easy to verify. I looked him up and called him. Don’t be a ditto head use it to do some critical thinking.
