Washington Transit Authority says no to Hamas-CAIR’s demands for free ad space

11

"I wouldn't want to create the impression that I wouldn't like the government of the United States to be Islamic sometime in the future" — Hamas-CAIR's Ibrahim Hooper

Hamas-CAIR is now the spokesman for the Muslim-American community. The Islamic supremacist group demanded free ad space, but the WMATA said no way. Want your say? Then you have to pay.

Watch the video.  Where is the denunciation of the hate speech spewed by jihadist imams and broadcast daily across the Arab media (see MEMRI and PMW)?
WASHINGTON –
"Opponents of anti-Jihad Metro ads seeking to counter message
" FOX, DC

Story continues below advertisement

Metro is stuck in the middle of a
controversy over politically charged advertisements now appearing a
several Metro stations. Critics of the ads are asking for equal time.

The poster in question is behind glass on the
platform at the U Street, Takoma Park, Georgia Avenue – Petworth and
Glenmont stations.

"It definitely caught my eye," says Metro rider
Kara Stone. "I know nothing about it. But I definitely read enough to
try to learn about it."

The message reads: "In any war between the
civilized man and the savage support the civilized man. Support Israel.
Defeat Jihad."

"It's just a lot to take in I guess I should say," added Angelique Harris, also riding Metro Tuesday. "It's very controversial."

The poster's creator says it's all a big misunderstanding.

"My message is a message of love," says Pamela Geller. "I'm speaking out against hate."

Geller is the New York woman who paid for the ads and others like them in San Francisco and New York City.

"Our message is that any war on innocent civilians
is savagery," Geller says. "9/11 was savagery. 7/7 in London. March
11th in Madrid."

But some Muslim-Americans see the message as an attack on Islam.

"It's frustrating whenever somebody uses the
freedom of speech that's guaranteed by the Constitution to promote
hatred and bigotry as these ads do," says Ibrahim Hooper with CAIR
(Council on American-Islamic Relations).

He says he and other interfaith and civil rights groups have reached out to Metro.

"To ask the transit authority to respond in a
positive way," Hooper tells us. "Not by censoring, but by working with
the Arab-American and Muslim community promoting mutual understanding,
perhaps through another ad campaign that would counter the hate message
in this campaign."

Metro officials say they don't give away ad space
anywhere in the system. But if CAIR or any other group wants to counter
the message with one of their own, they are free to do it, but they have
to pay for the ad.

Geller also asked aloud during a phone conversation with FOX 5 News: "Where in my message does it say 'Muslim?"'

But CAIR's Hooper says it's certainly implied.

"If she wants to spew hatred and bigotry, she's
free to do so in America," says Hooper. "But it's up to the rest of
society, the mainstream practitioners of all faiths to come together, to
repudiate hatred and extremism and promote mutual understanding
instead."

The posters did not go public without a fight.
Metro wanted to hold off for a few weeks, but a judge ruled the ads had
to go up now.

Metro says it was concerned about public safety and adding fuel to the fires burning recently in the Middle East.

But so far, reaction here has been muted.

Wow! The most understated comment of the century. Metro rider Kara Stone “I know nothing about it.” Then… a glimmer of hope that the Ads are compelling the uninformed to think! “But I definitely read enough to try to learn about it.”

I think that the WTA realize that if they gave free space to CAIR they’d in effect be using public revenue to subsidize a political message.
If Obama uses his campaign funds to pay for a poster campaign, will Romney be given equal space for free?
Come to think of it, as Pam’s campaign was in reponse to the anti-Israel ads, shouldn’t Pam get a refund?

I’m curious,…if the peaceful islamists are fighting mad about adds that warn about radical Islam and the savagery perpetrated by radicals, one would like to think they would completely support these adds. It leaves me wondering if these muslims are as peaceful as they claim to be. I never hear ANY (peaceful) muslim speaking out against the savagery being commited by (radicals).

The Middle East can police it’s own inhabitants. Americans aren’t inflamed to violence when Ibe says stupid crap about truthful ads, or when jihadists scream they want to destroy America, kill jews and christians, while burning and killing everything in their path.
My mother always taught her 12 children, two wrongs don’t make a right. That is of course according to ones own perception of right and wrong, but it applies in a civilized society none the less.

Hooper goes on about the bigitry and hate in Geller’s ad. Two points :
1. I have considered the wording of the ad. and I don’t see either bigotry or hatred. Attacking jihad is ATTACKING bigotry of the worst kind.
2. Does Hooper not want to speak about the shameful actions, worse than simple bigotry, in the shooting of a young girl in Pakistan because she spoke out against the disgusting intolerance of the Taliban. Why didn’t the reporters who interviewed Hooper ask him about that or the 1000s more instances of bigotry by Muslims ? Come on Hooper, what’ve you got to say about that, man ?

Yeah, they can mumble about fairness and stick disclaimers on things – whatever. BUT don’t go near their profits and ask for free stuff!

These “reporters” (propagandists) make me sick. The ugly obvious bias is enraging. Observe how the first “reporter” delivers the “news” (propaganda) with a slight scolding tilt of the head while scornfully advising the viewers that “Metro is STUCK in the middle of a controversy (Right, dimwit! the controversy is FREE SPEECH!) Have you ever heard of that?? You got to hand it to them though – they are masterful (and EVIL). Notice how she arrogantly raises here eyebrows and tilts her head in some sort of corrective gesture while stating the ads have ALREADY appeared in San Francisco AND New York City (Oh! how awful – NOT… NEW YORK CITY). The EVIL implication here is that these ads are spreading like cancer and SHE IS HERE to inform the viewers. Then she goes on to say “the opponents of these ads (CAIR Islamofacists) are now asking for equal time FOR FREE!!!!!! (The good old Islamfacist tactic of reparations for manufactured wrongs).
Then we have good old Bob Barney. He reports (propagandizes) that the posters in question which are “behind glass” (whew! the cancer of these ads can’t spread that easily BEHIND GLASS or… is it that Bobby Boy is just informing future vandals that something more is needed than spray paint in order to destroy THESE ads) Then he worries that the ads are spreading like cancer because they are “displayed at the U Street Metro station (Oh! how awful) and Tacoma Park (Oh! It’s getting worse) and EVEN… GEORGIA AVE (Oh no! Bobby Boy is really really afraid now). THAT’S IT! BOBBY BOY HAS REALLY HAD IT NOW!
Masters at their EVIL manipulative “reporting.” REPULSIVE.
“Revulsion is a natural response to EVIL.” Dr. Scott Peck’s book PEOPLE OF THE LIE. The study of the manifestation of evil qualities of PEOPLE OF THE LIE. A must read to understand what motivates Islamofacists.

I think the LONGER these wind-up adds stay up, the better chance you lot will have of seeing STEAM coming out of Hoopers ears. I just BET his missus is BLACK and BLUE as a result of his affections. Oh, nice to see the name PETWORTH in Washington, because PETWORTH, West Sussex England is only ten miles from me, a little mention of home.
