US White House’s 9/11 Anniversary Guidelines Ask Officials to “Minimize References to Al Qaeda”

In a sense Barry is right. Call them what they are : islamic fundamentalist terrorists who are obeying the commands in the koran and following the example set forth by Mohammed.

The death of Osama bin Laden was viewed as reason for officials to “minimize references to Al Qaeda.” While terrorists affiliated with Bin Laden’s network “still have the ability to inflict harm,” the guidelines say, officials are to make the point that “Al Qaeda and its adherents have become increasingly irrelevant.”
The guidelines say the absence of Al Qaeda playing any significant role in the “Arab Spring” uprisings against longtime autocrats in the Middle East and North Africa should be cited as evidence that Bin Laden’s organization “represents the past,” while peaceful street protesters in Egypt and Tunisia “represent the future.” Left unsaid was that many of the deposed leaders were close American allies and partners in counterterrorism operations.
Though rebuilding support for the U.S. abroad is a worthy goal, it seems like these guidelines will fit in neatly with a popular meme on the right,(http://www.theatlanticwire.com/politics/2011/08/obama-administration-message-911-its-not-just-about-us/41877/) that President Obama goes around the world and apologizes for how awesome America is. “Obama’s apology tour” has been debunked by The Washington Post and other places, but several Republican presidential candidates have made references to Obama’s supposed tendency to play down American specialness abroad. That events commemorating 9/11 will be “not just about us” seems likely to fit into that theme.

America’s sense of Victory will be felt when America’s allow it’s Military to be unleashed without Presidential restraints upon any country that talks, walks, or even smells of expansionist Wahhabist Islamists. If they they sow the wind, they’ll reap the whirl wind. Bush was right. Unless they are truly with America, they’re against it.

I want Americans to contemplate the lives of the children who are ten
years older that lost a loved one on that day. The children of first
responders who are ten years older and have vivid memories of where
their parents were on that day and if they would come home or die.
I want to ask Amerians to contemplate the life of the jumpers, who were
they? Do we know that yet? I know I don’t. I don’t because the media
doesn’t care to investigate these people, who they were, remind us.
We all have sketched in our brains the images of those suffering
Americans standing perched at the windows of the towers deciding
their fate, to jump or to burn to death. My own husband didn’t stop digging
until late April of 2002 or late May. He didn’t begin the process of
closure for a while thereafter. It may have been ten years ago this
September, but it feels only a few short years ago to us.
Men and woman dressed up for work, on the most beautiful day of the
beginning of September, not a single cloud in the sky, the morning
air was crisp and clean, it was heaven sent! However, evil had it’s
plans, evil Allah worshippers had plans for these innocent office
workers. There should have been tens of thousands of people in those
towers that morning. The evil Allah worshippers were aiming for mass
casualties. The reason why they didn’t get mass casualties is because
first responders are experts at what they do. They ran in and began
a mass evacuation of the buildings, people wanted to leave, they
knew enough to get out, thank goodness. Some couldn’t, sadly. Some
had no choice, no one was coming for them. My good Lord.
Cathy Mazza a friend of mine from the gym I used to go to, she
was an officer for the transit police. This woman was someone I
admired, she had like five different degrees in various things she
went to college for. She wanted to join the police department.
It is said that she shot out the glass in the lobby of one of the
towers when she instantly knew they were coming down. She is responsible
for saving dozens of lives by that one act. Sadly, she died as the
building came falling down on her body, crushing this wonderful lady
to death. Nothing surprises me about that story. This lady, she was young
too, she was the tower of strength as a woman. I cannot believe
a life such as hers with so much talent and spunk always was robbed
from us on that day. I don’t want the stories of Muslims in the news
today and lately to distract us from looking deeply into the remaining
family members lives, learning of what they made of themselves, or how
they survived these past 10 years. I don’t want the Muslims little false
stories of a paper cut to outshine the real stories of Americans
resilience and bravery and courage in the aftermath of the worst terror
attack on our nations soil, 9/11 and beyond. The story isn’t over,
there are sequals that we need to hear about, we need to know about,
we need to learn about now that it’s 10 years post 9/11.

That absurd advice is tantamount to suggesting that the evil of Adolph Hitler be minimized simply because he is no longer alive.

Al Qaeda, in fact, has played a role. Elements of the terrorist group are among the rebels in Libya.
“[O]fficials are told to honor all victims of terrorism around the world as they also commemorate the Americans killed on Sept. 11.” The guidelines include this statement: “As we commemorate the citizens of over 90 countries who perished in the 9/11 attacks, we honor all victims of terrorism, in every nation around the world. We honor and celebrate the resilience of individuals, families, and communities on every continent, whether in New York or Nairobi, Bali or Belfast, Mumbai or Manila, or Lahore or London.”
That sophomoric statement is clearly meant to downplay the significance of Islamist ideology in terrorist acts. By encouraging people to associate the downed World Trade Centers with, for example, the bombed Federal Building in Oklahoma City, Obama can get people to disassociate terrorism with Islam and instead blame violence on the occasional crackpot.
Just as Obama’s 2009 “world apology tour” was his way of claiming that “the United States is not so exceptional or great,” his September 11 guidelines are meant to downplay the events of that day as “nothing special” when compared with violence around the world. Obama’s attempt will fail. Just as Americans remember December 7, 1941 as a “day of infamy,” they will always remember September 11, 2001 as a day that displayed the evil of radical Islam for all the world to see.

When opposite ideals interact, for sure we should prepare for war. Everyone should yearn for peace.
