Sinking the "Gaza 54" RJC News

Here's what happened to the original "Gaza 54", those 54 Democratic congressmen who signed the letter asking President Obama to pressure Israel to relax security measures around Hamas-ruled Gaza:

Five resigned, retired, or lost in a primary: Brian Baird (WA-3), Bill Delahunt (MA-10), Eric Massa (NY-29), Carolyn Cheeks Kilpatrick (MI-13), Diane E. Watson (CA-33).

Four have lost re-election to a Republican: Mary Jo Kilroy (OH-15), Glenn Nye (VA-2), Jim Oberstar (MI-8), and Joe Sestak (who left his House seat, PA-7) to run for Senate.

The Gaza 54 of the 111th Congress will number 45 in the 112th Congress.
