Pamela Geller, Canada Free Press: Obama and Israel After 100 Days

Obama and Israel After 100 Days
Canada Free Press

Before Obama was elected, many Jews were insisting he was
pro-Israel, and 78% of American Jews voted for him. I was not among
them: a year ago, a Jewish writer attacked me for saying that Obama was
not pro-Israel. Now that he has been president for over 100 days, how
has that worked out? It is worth revisiting that May 2008 article, for
it is revealing of the false assumptions that all too many Jews had and
still have.

Last May, Daniel Koffler wrote about me at a blog called Jewcy (it
is anything but) . He said “false friends of Israel, on the other hand,
go into a petit mal seizure at the slightest hint of deviation from a
platform of dispatching all the Palestinians with extreme prejudice,
and grand mal when that deviationism comes from a fellow Jew.”

There’s more. Koffler defended another Jewish writer, Jeffrey
Goldberg, whom I had criticized for his claim that “Mr. Obama is
actually more pro-Israel than either Ehud Olmert or Ehud Barak…[t]o say
nothing of John McCain and President George W. Bush….”

How amusing it is to read Koffler’s attack now, after I spent the
better part of 18 months prior to the election exposing Obama’s
anti-semitic allegiances, alliances, friendships, and funding. I was so
unnerved by what I discovered in the run up to the election, I spent
short of a week in Florida on “The GREAT REVERSE SCHLEP: Save the Jews Tour
” educating Florida’s elder Jews of Obama’s dangerous liasons before
they cast their ballots. Jewish Americans were woefully ignorant,
thanks to a corrupt media, of Obama’s true sentiments. His Islamic
upbringing was whitewashed, his ties to Khalid Al Mansour, Rashid
Khalidi,  Frank Marshall, notorious anti-semites Louis Farrakhan and
Reverend Jeremiah Wright were virtually ignored. Further, stories I
broke at Atlas Shrugs exposing the millions of foreign dollars
from Arab and Islamic countries including Gaza contributions from a
Hamas controlled Rafah refugee camp in Gaza went unreported and
unchallenged.

Looking beyond the deep bow to the Muslim king of Saudi Arabia and
his seeming complicity in the advancement of Iran’s nuclear ambitions
(a country who repeatedly promises a second Jewish holocaust), here are
just a few highlights from the president’s first 100 days:

  • Caroline Glick reported that “Obama’s National Security Adviser
James Jones told a European foreign minister that Obama is planning to
build an anti-Israel coalition with the Arabs and Europe to compel
Israel to surrender Judea, Samaria and Jerusalem to the Palestinians.”
  • Glick added that “since it came into office a month ago, every
single Middle East policy the Obama administration has announced has
been antithetical to Israel’s national security interests.” She notes
Obama’s appeasement policy toward Iran; his avowed intent to establish
a Palestinian state quickly, despite the continued refusal of the
Palestinians to recognize Israel’s right to exist; his ending of U.S.
sanctions against Syria, despite its support for terror groups; his
plan to leave Iraq; and his new restrictions on weapons sales to Israel.
  • Obama also has reversed a long-standing U.S. policy and announced
its intention to compel Israel to join the Nuclear Non-Proliferation
Treaty. For decades the U.S. has supported Israel in not signing the
treaty, as doing so would compel the Jewish State to give up any
nuclear weapons it may have, thus severely hampering its ability to
defend itself against its hostile neighbors.
  • Ynet News reported that the Obama administration “has asked
Congress to amend US law so as to enable continued financial assistance
to the Palestinian Authority even if Hamas becomes part of a future
    unity government.”

The situation has deteriorated so rapidly Newt Gingrich recently
stated that the Obama Administration is “systematically setting up the
most decisive confrontation that we’ve ever seen” between Israel and
its enemies. Douglas Hagmann of the Northeast Intelligence Network
agreed: “The Obama administration is no friend to Israel, is no friend
to the Jews in America and is no friend to democracy or freedom in
America.  …Just by his very appointments, we can see him filling
positions of power with people who are anti-Semitic, who want to see
Israel essentially dissolved as a nation, if not by diplomacy, then
certainly by war.”

Hagmann spoke to an intelligence source who told him: “I have every
reason to believe, based on what I’ve seen at my level of [security]
clearance especially over the last several years, that Israel will soon
be completely on their own… or worse.” He explained this would happen
“when our administration provides more support to Arab countries [with]
financial and military aid, undercutting Israel’s defense efforts all
while pushing Israel to succumb to the pressure of unreasonable demands
designed to end with their political annihilation as a nation.”

And meanwhile, White House chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel has tied any
action against Iran’s nuclear program to more concessions by Israel to
the Palestinians.

By their acts ye shall know him, and so we know him.
Every
decision, every move, every policy decision the President has made in
regards to Israel has been the act of …. an anti-semite.

What does Daniel Koffler think of his candidate now?
