Sweden is now averaging nearly one bombing a day in some months.

Last year, the country recorded 189 explosive attacks in 2025 — a 39% increase from the year before and more than double the number seen seven years ago. In January 2025 alone, police documented roughly 30 explosions, amounting to nearly one blast every day.

Swedish officials have acknowledged that the surge in gang violence is closely tied to immigration and failed integration policies. Sweden’s foreign-born population has doubled over the past two decades. A government review found that 41% of gang crime suspects were foreign-born, and 82% had two foreign-born parents, with many originating from Afghanistan, Somalia, Iraq, and parts of North Africa and the Middle East.
