Texas Governor Greg Abbott has labeled the Muslim Brotherhood and CAIR as foreign terrorist and transnational criminal organization.
Texas Governor Greg Abbott has issued a sweeping proclamation designating both the Muslim Brotherhood and CAIR as Foreign Terrorist Organizations and Transnational Criminal Organizations under Texas law. Citing FBI findings, terrorism-financing cases, and the groups’ alleged ties to Hamas, Abbott’s order triggers enhanced criminal penalties, land-purchase restrictions, and expanded state authority to block or dismantle affiliated operations in Texas. The proclamation represents the most aggressive state-level action ever taken against these organizations in the United States.
Bravo! We need this on a national level. This should have happened right after 9/11. Instead, President Bush invited them to White House and you wonder how we got here?

Abbott’s proclamation is not symbolic — it has real legal bite.
Here’s what it formally triggers under Texas law:
1. Designates Muslim Brotherhood & CAIR as Foreign Terrorist Organizations
Under Texas Penal Code § 71.01(e)
➡️ This activates heightened criminal penalties
➡️ Allows prosecutions for aiding, promoting, or associating with the organizations
➡️ Enables civil injunctions to block their operations
2. Labels Both Groups “Transnational Criminal Organizations”
Under Texas Property Code § 5.254
➡️ Bars these groups, affiliates, and members from buying or acquiring land in Texas
➡️ Forces divestiture of land already acquired in violation
➡️ Subjects them to Chapter 5 penalties for foreign-controlled entities
