We did it. You called congressman telling them to vote to deter US colleges from taking secret foreign donations. It’s obscene that Qatar’s regime – the same one that offers shelter and protection to top Hamas terrorists – has been able to pour billions into places like Yale, Georgetown and Cornell – much of it undisclosed.
The DETERRENT Act finally brings transparency to the financial ties U.S. colleges have with foreign entities. Our adversaries exploit these ties to indoctrinate students and undermine U.S. national security.
Rep. Michael Baumgartner (R-WA), one of the bill’s co-sponsors, notes that by pumping cash into campuses across the country, American adversaries are able to “stifle academic freedom,” spread propaganda, and gain access to valuable intellectual property. China pursues this strategy aggressively.

Just the News: The Republican-led House on Thursday passed legislation to limit foreign influence in U.S. universities and colleges. The DETERRENT Act passed in a 241 to 169 vote. The legislation mandates that schools have to report foreign gifts that are at $50,000 or more to the Department of Education. The legislation bans donations from China and Russia (Just the News).
Stop Antisemitism: Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib tried adding an amendment to include the antisemitic BDS resolution – it was swiftly rejected (X).
