Jewish Students Told to Leave Columbia After Passover Warning

Jewish students at Columbia University were encouraged to leave the school ahead of the Passover holiday as pro-Palestinian protests continue on campus.

In a post on X, formerly Twitter, Eric Schorr, a former Israel Defense Force intelligence officer “wholeheartedly” suggested that “Jewish students not only leave campus but potentially seek new institutions for their continued education.”

As a security professional, the campus is no longer safe, it is time for the Jewish community, students, faculty and alumni donors, to vacate and abandon it entirely,” Schorr wrote on Sunday.

Newsweek reached out to the New York City Police Department via email for comment.

Over the past several days, tensions have risen at Columbia after pro-Palestinian students set up a “Gaza Solidarity Encampment” on campus. Last week, Columbia University President Minouche Shafik said in a statement that she authorized the NYPD to begin clearing out the encampment, which prompted the arrest of many students involved in the protests.

“This mass action was organized by the student-led coalition Columbia University Apartheid Divest (CUAD), Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP), & Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP) to protest Columbia University’s continued financial investment in corporations that profit from Israeli apartheid, genocide, and occupation in Palestine,” the CUAD said.

Imagine if this were done to Blacks. Every person or group who threatened and called for killing Blacks would be locked up and charged with a hate crime. Every Jew of 18 or older must apply for a pistol permit NOW for self defense and learn how to use guns of all kinds and join a Jewish gun club like I did when I was 18 when my navy father took me there where I learned all about guns and how to use them in self defense and I am grateful to him for doing that. I have no qualms about killing any anti-Semite who wants me dead and it is my right to do so. If a gun permit is denied when these anti-Semites threaten to kill Jews and those in charge tell Jews to hide and stay away, a class action suit should be immediately be brought as no one will protect the Jewish people but themselves. NEVER AGAIN MEANS JUST THAT AND THE COST OF TRYING TO KILL ME WILL BE THE DEATHS OF THOSE WHO WANT TO TRY IT. I think the Jews are mostly pacifistic but I wish the Jews would stand up and literally fight these bully’s physically, it would mostly be out of self defense so it would be justified unless they would be standing in the way of Jesus’s plan! I know Jesus would turn the other check but I do believe Jesus wouldn’t want you/Jews to be bullied, hurt or killed! I know, I know, the word is mightier than the sword/hands! Jews have been too civilized and must arm themselves and be prepared to kill in self defense. Black folks learned this lesson well and so will the Jews. Professor Shai Davidai, an Israel-born Columbia University professor who has been a vocal critic of the administration’s response to the ongoing anti-Israel student protests, said on Monday that he had been barred from campus after he tried to lead a pro-Jewish rally at the college, The New York Post reported.

Davidai said that when he swiped his key card at the school’s Morningside Heights campus, it read “deactivated.”

“They are not letting me on main campus,” he told a crowd of pro-Israel rallies at the school’s gate.
