Merkel’s migrant munificence — the gift that keeps on giving. This incident is still more of the poison fruit of Merkel’s reckless, feckless policies regarding mass Muslim migration, which have set Germany on the path to national suicide. If Germany were remotely sane today, Merkel would be forced to resign over this. But it isn’t, and she won’t be. She will go down in history as the worst German Chancellor since Adolf Hitler. But what, exactly, did the Germans expect? Did they really think that they could inundate their nation with Muslim migrants and that there would not be any among them who were devout and violent? Germany has chosen the path to national suicide, and it is well on the way there.

The security threat posed by more than 2,000 Islamist terror suspects is just one example of how Angela Merkel’s “mistake” to throw open the borders continues to haunt Germany daily, the country’s former spy chief has said.
Story continues below advertisementHans-Georg Maassen, who was forced to retire as Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution (BfV) chief last year after voicing skepticism over antifa-promoted footage used to claim Germans had carried out a ‘pogrom’ against migrants, said domestic security has been compromised since the Chancellor moved to welcome well over a million migrants in 2015.
Having been a co-author of German residence laws emphasising the state’s role and duty to ensure the “control and limitation of immigration”, Maassen “felt chills” when he saw that “thousands of [third world migrants] were allowed to enter just like that”, he told the tabloid newspaper Bild.
“The security situation has been aggravated by the so-called migration crisis,” asserted the former lawyer and intelligence chief, appearing at a conservative conference in Cologne, where he was given the reception of a “rock star” by right-wing supporters of Merkel’s Christian Democratic Union (CDU), according to Bild….
There are now “around 2,200 potential terrorists who could carry out [Islamist] attacks at any time”, the former BfV head said, adding that the number of Islamic extremists living in Germany has risen from 3,800 in 2012 to 11,500 today.
“Not only do the [migration policy] mistakes of 2015 continue to affect [the country] but they are repeated daily,” lamented Maasen, before asserting the belief it is extremely unlikely Germany would be able to successfully integrate the massive number of people who have taken up residence in the nation over the last few years.

They want a one world government where there are only two classes of people – the very rich and the very poor. The very rich will throw us a few crumbs now and then behind their walls and security as we are surrounded by violence and live in poverty.
The blue print for this has been there for decades. We have the WTO, the World Bank, the U.N. International Law and Courts that came about so innocently. Sovereignty and borders are antithesis to the NWO they want. If they achieve the NWO, then they believe there will be no more wars and we will be a global community. It will be the same hell hole no matter where you live and no one can escape it.
IMO this is why they have this fake “migration” and “refugee” crisis. The next one coming up is the “climate change” crisis where people will need to be redistributed to the west because of the weather. Wealth redistribution will not change the weather and THEY KNOW IT it is a farce.

I don’t know where the five million figure comes from, but the “sympathy” that Moslems have for their jihadi brethern- particularly when said brethern are “victorious”- should be an enormous concern for those concerned for the future of Western Civilization. Somehow, I think that category does not include people like AOC, Ilhan Omar, and, perhaps most frighteningly, Nancy Pelosi.

It comes from the fact that no one who subscribes to the teachings of the Koran or its derivatives can be trusted in a western free society. The principles of Islam are completely at odds with those of free societies – a Muslim can not support both.

A difficulty with your statement is that the “teachings” of the Koran mean very different things to different people. It’s a bit of a Rorschach test. I’ve noted here before, the words of Reza Khalili, author or A Time to Betray and a man who, by his own testimony, risked his life for years to betray the mullahs of Iran. In his book, Khalili claimed that when he was young, he interpreted the violent verses of the Koan in a “figurative” way.

He may have done that, but it surely put him at some risk, as Muslims are not allowed to interpret the exhortations of the Koran outside the interpretations presented by the Mullahs. And, most of the violence-promoting passages are crystal clear, not open to interpretation.

John, the Koran is such a miserable hodge podge, with mistranslations- or at least questionable ones- that none of it is crystal clear. Is it 72 virgins, or 72 grapes? Well, without the missing diacritical marks, such matters are highly ambiguous. See Ibn Warraq’s Virgins What Virgins for a more thorough discussion. The current Koran was only standardized in the early 20th century.

Here are seven different sources for the translation of Quran (8:12). They all agree on the concept of killing disbelievers.
Sahih International: [Remember] when your Lord inspired to the angels, “I am with you, so strengthen those who have believed. I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieved, so strike [them] upon the necks and strike from them every fingertip.”

I am not going to attempt to interpret the canon of Islam in a creative manner to make it comport more with civilized norms. That’s the job of civilized Moslems who, for reasons of their own, want to retain their ancestral heritage.
But you make no effort to supply insight or context. For example, was 8:12 meant to be constrained to the circumstances of the battle of the day? Or is it, as you would make it appear, a general admonition? Ref 1 addresses that question with this:
When we get to read the verses in its context, does it promote the killing of innocents? The answer is NO! Even when Muslims were being persecuted by the mighty army of Quraish, God Almighty encouraged Muslims to offer peace if they, the enemy stopped hostilities against them (Muslims).
You might be surprised how Islam could be cast into a starkly different light under the proper conditions and properly motivated. Moreover, there are perhaps lonely voices in Islam today trying to do exactly that. You have a better solution for the long run? Sorry, possibly to burst your balloon, but the West is simply not going to annihilate the Islamic world.

I am suggesting that there is room to cast the canon of Islam in a very different light than is normally presented on this site. Is it going to happen? I dunno- and meanwhile, the civilized world needs to deal with the Islamic world as it is today.
Nobody alive today knows what the world of Islam will look like in 200 years. I do think it is worth contemplating what the West can do to stimulate a re-evaluation of Islam’s canon. Probably would take more than a little friendly persuasion.

Has it changed significantly over the past 1,400 years though? There have been minor attempts to reform Islam, such as Sufism, the Baha’i Faith, the Ahmadiyya Muslim community, but all these efforts have been largely rejected by the mainstream Muslim community.

With that statement of the obvious, Herr Maassen is covering his butt for when the balloon goes up the next time some rag head over there feels the “itch” coming on.
The very fact he was dismissed for doing his job by pointing to the verifiable truth of what Merkel and the whole political, media and religious elite had wanted done is proof {if it were needed} that the casualties in Germany tomorrow don’t matter to those elected and responsible by 2015.
Like in Sweden, the only thing which matters to so many in Germany today is the continuation of the mass immigration policy regardless. Virtue signalling is everything. The only thing which can stop what’s looming is the vote of the people and not the statements of Herr Maassen.
By their willingness to vote for their own salvation – or not, shall we know them.

For years, I’ve been puzzled as to why there has not been more popular anger in the West about the immigration of people with attitudes and behavior so alien to those of Western Civilization. I will offer a few reasons why that has not been the case:
1. Government and mainstream media have, for their own reasons, not wanted people to know of the danger. A classic example was, after the 9-11 attacks, POTUS Bush ’43 assured Americans that Islam was a religion of peace. Sorry, George, it is not. But in a thousand ways, MSM wants to blur the connection between the ideology behind Islam and so many of the murderous attacks that Moslems have committed.
2. A lack of appreciation of our own culture- in fact,, even a demonization of that culture. For example, when Yale University tried to implement a new (I think required) course in Western Civ, it was greeted with students, lead by a glad-handing freeloader named Jesse Jackson, chanting “Hey, hey, ho, ho, Western culture’s got to go.” I guess that’s what passes for the life of the mind at Yale. As a result, so-called humanities students may graduate from Yale knowledgeable about critical intersectional feminist theory, but have no knowledge of the American Civil War, the radical concepts that drove the Enlightenment and how they fit into Western history, or the foundations of the concept of a free society. Since they stand for nothing, they fall for anything, including the notion that the most liberating economic system in human history, capitalism, is in fact a primary source of evil and tyranny.
3. An ignorance of history. The present conflict between the West and the Islamic world can be viewed in the context of a 1400 year war. But how many voters even know of the sieges of Vienna by the Ottomans in the 16th and 17th centuries, let alone have a sense of their significance today? I admit, I know little about them, but had the Ottomans prevailed in 1683, I think it is quite possible that all of Europe, except an ornery little island off the west coast, could have fallen under the heavy boot of Islam.
As a mere colonial, the only thing to which I would take exception in your comment is to note that methinks it should be “As in Sweden …”.

More likely did it because they were scared of repercussions, particularly to relatives, if they didn’t. The psychology has been well covered in books like The Gulag Archipelago. Same thing–round up of citizen guns–could happen is US, particularly since Conservatives tend to be the most peaceable law abiding types. Paradoxically, the Leftists who claim to abhor guns are more prone to take charge with violence.
