The Democrat Party ended its sponsorship of the Women’s March due to mounting evidence of anti-Semitism among the group’s leaders. The decision was welcome news for many. However, the Democrat Party should not be praised for this decision. The Democrat Party should be condemned for taking so long to reach this decision. This decision was clearly disingenuous, and was likely (in part) a response to the Republican Party ostracizing Rep. Steve King only a day earlier.
Since its inception, there has been overwhelming evidence that the Women’s March leadership holds deep-seated and radical anti-Semitic views. Despite the evidence, the Democrat Party did absolutely nothing. They did nothing when Linda Sarsour said “Muslims shouldn’t humanize Israelis” and when Tamika Mallory said “Jews led the American slave trade,” or when Mallory called Louis Farrakhan “the GOAT.” In fact, Senators Warren and Gillibrand can be seen on YouTube participating in protests with Linda Sarsour during Justice Kavanaugh’s confirmation hearings.
The Democrats couldn’t care less about anti-Semitism. If they did, they would approve anti-BDS legislation, which would help prevent bullying, violence, abuse and marginalization of pro-Israel Jewish Americans. It is only because of the recent pushback from some cities and some “elites” that the Democrat Party decided to jump ship. However, this publicity stunt does not change the fact that the Democrat Party is rabidly anti-Semitic.
