Gold medal for Israel in Abu Dhabi: No Israeli anthem, flag

What is horrible and evil, is the international community’s sanction of this hatred and genocidal ideology. Nations should refuse to allow any Muslim countries to participate in these games if they will not behave as civilized nations. Sanctioning this vile bigotry is as evil as the act itself. We know where this will lead.

Even in the world of fun and games, there’s a different set of rules for Israel. Case in point:
The Abu Dhabi Grand Slam of Judo is forbidding Israeli athletes to wear national emblems. And if an Israeli competitor wins a medal, the Israeli national anthem will not be played.
This is just the latest example of a long standing phenomenon:
ADVERTISEMENTIsrael’s participation in international sports typically leads to hostile reactions and even boycotts from Arab or Muslim organizations or athletes.
And it goes beyond athletics:
Lebanon, Tunisia and Qatar banned the movie Wonder Woman because the titular character is played by an Israeli actress.
I wonder how such a storyline would play out on the world stage if the roles were reversed, if Israel demanded the same conditions its neighbouring countries typically do? I can already hear the cries of “Islamophobia!”
I’m joined by author and activist Pamela Geller to discuss whether or not these “anti-Israel” stunts are really outright anti-Semitism under another name; then Quebec broadcaster Eric Duhaime reports the immediate fallout from Quebec’s bill banning face coverings in the public sector. Will it stand up to a court challenge?
