Michael Miller & The JCRC: Endorsing BDS In the Israel Day Parade

Leave it to The Jewish Week to write an editorial against those speaking out against BDS, rather than reflect the truth.

In today’s Jewish Week, editor Gary Rosenblatt writes: “And in recent days several top Jewish lay leaders in New York have been called out by a small group of vocal critics for donating to the New Israel Fund, which the critics consider to be anti-Israel. (No mention was made of the fact that the lay leaders targeted by name give generously to a wide range of Jewish causes, including those considered right of center on Israel as well.)”

Rosenblatt continues, “The political atmosphere here these days in regard to Israel is more than tainted — it’s toxic. Some suggest privately that the anti-left charges are part of a campaign paid for by Sheldon Adelson, the Las Vegas-based businessman and hard right supporter of Israel who backed a number of Republican candidates in prior elections.”

Rosenblatt is wrong and biased. Adelson (unfortunately) has not donated, and the NIF supports BDS, which he neglected to mention. The “toxic” environment is created by the NIF extremists who do not support Israel.

The head of UJA-Federation donates to an extreme leftist organization – and regardless of anything else she may donate, that fact alone must see her ousted as head of this Jewish organization.

The response to our activities is what we expected, as these quislings applaud others and yet refuse to act.  They condemn anti-Semitism and anti-Israel activities in theory.  And in reality, they are silent.

The Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC) runs the annual Israel Day Parade, and silently endorse BDS by allowing the New Israel Fund to march in that event.  The same organization, the JCRC, partners (in Boston) with the bigots of NIF.

The JCRC congratulates Scarlett Johansson – yet does exactly the opposite of what she did. It is horrible. It is terrible. And it is wrong. Shame on JCRC and quisling Michael Miller.  We will have a heightened awareness on the donors to JCRC and making sure they are aware of the fact that the JCRC tacitly endorses BDS. Surely the yeshivas and organizations marching do not.

Actress Scarlett Johansson should need no introduction. She’s glamorous and much in demand as a personality who can lend star power to commercial projects and charitable causes.

Journalist Uzi Silber coined the term “Jew Flu,” saying, “those infected with the virus wildly inflate Israeli sins real or imagined, while excusing or rationalizing Palestinian anti-Semitism and outrages against Jews.” That is JCRC and Michael Miller and JCRC board member Karen R. Adler who gives them money.

The UJA-Federation President, Alisa Doctoroff writes checks to the New Israel Fund  – as The Israel Day Parade allows BDS.  Quite a spectacle.

Meanwhile, more groups stand up against the NIF, with Americans for a Safe Israel/AFSI noting that they “..will continue to actively protest against this treachery until it is ended.  We are bitterly disappointed at the Jewish Communal Fund that granted the NIF $343,971 according to their 2012 990.   NIF is anti – Israel and has no place in the Celebrate Israel Parade.”
