Media Cover-up: Freedom of the WTC Blind Sheik the goal of Cairo Riots

Egyptian Salafis Call For Release Of Sheik 'Omar 'Abd Al-Rahman From U.S. Prison, Chant Antisemitic Slogans

Release of '93 World Trade Center Bombing Sheikh behind Egypt's act of war on US Embassy

It seems that bad actors in both Egypt and Libya
decided to agitate for the release of Sheikh Omar Abdul Rahman, aka the
“Blind Sheikh.” This is a longstanding cause for al Qaeda and other
militants – even though it is inconceivable that Rahman will be released
and terrorism on his behalf is itself, in many ways, a pretext.

Rahman is a widely revered character in jihadist
circles, having issued fatwas that repeatedly led to terrorism. Osama
bin Laden credited Rahman, a long-time friend and ally of al Qaeda’s
deceased master, with issuing the fatwa that condoned the September 11,
2001, terrorist attacks. Rahman is serving a life sentence in an
American prison for his role in 1993 World Trade Center bombing, which
prefigured 9/11, and a follow-on plot against New York City landmarks.
Rahman’s spiritual guidance directed those terrorists.

Atlas reader M adds this:

On
the morning of September 11, 2012,
CNN foreign correspondent Nic
Robertson filed a piece on a supposed ‘peace plan’ from Mohamed
al-Zawahiri, the brother of al Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri.

Zawahri
takes Robertson on a tour of the protest site, and clearly states that
the focus of the protest is the imprisonment of Sheik Omar Abdel-Rahman
(a.k.a. the ‘Blind Sheik’), who is serving a life sentence in US prison
for his role in organizing the 1993 World Trade Centre bombings.
Robertson also talks to Rahman’s son, who states the same aim.

What is remarkable is that this tour happened before
the September 11 Cairo protests that turned violent – the same violent
protests that we were later told were spontaneous protests over the
‘offensive’ video of Mohammed posted to Youtube in July. This was not a
spontaneous, unorganized protest.

For the Islamists, the Youtube video is just a convenient excuse that guilty white liberals will easily swallow.

ANGLE 1:

CNN has protest organizer on tape stating that the aim is to free a convicted terrorist, yet the media – including CNN – swallows the line that the West has somehow sparked these violent protests?!?

CNN did post a story on Robertson’s piece early on the afternoon of the 11th, but there is no mention of Rahman. The focus is solely on Zawahiri’s ‘piece plan’ (http://www.cnn.com/2012/09/10/world/meast/zawahiri-peace-plan/index.html).
They have not used the video since. It seems to be buried by a
narrative that runs contrary to Robertson’s piece (i.e. that America
triggered this).

Why is the mainstream media completely negligent reporting on this matter? Why is CNN ignoring their own evidence?

ANGLE 2:

Egyptian
president Morsi has been slow to show concern about violent mob
overrunning the US embassy. Morsi is of course very supportive of
Rahman, even declaring that he will free Rahman after he had been sworn in as president (http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2012/jun/29/mohamed-morsi-sheikh-us).

Is Morsi and the Muslim Brotherhood – either actively or passively – assisting the protesters in some way?

 ANGLE 3:

While
the media might try to claim that they were ignorant of the true
purpose of the September 11 protest, the US embassy in Cairo and the
State Department can’t reasonably claim to be that naive. Yet the US
embassy still issued a groveling apology for the ‘offensive’ Youtube
video.

Why
is the US bending over backwards to make up excuses for the Islamists?
Why did the embassy in effect blame the First Amendment when they knew
the truth said otherwise?
