A former MSNBC producer wrote a scathing open letter explaining why she recently left the cable news network.

“July 24th was my last day at MSNBC. I don’t know what I’m going to do next exactly but I simply couldn’t stay there anymore,” Ariana Pekary wrote on her personal website. “My colleagues are very smart people with good intentions. The problem is the job itself. It forces skilled journalists to make bad decisions on a daily basis.”
Pekary provided a number of examples of why she wanted to leave the cable news network.
She quoted someone she described a “successful and insightful TV veteran” who said: “We are a cancer and there is no cure… But if you could find a cure, it would change the world.”
MSNBC Producer Quits, Pens Letter Calling Network A ‘Cancer’ That Stokes ‘Racial Division’

A former MSNBC producer wrote an open letter on Monday explaining why she left the far-left network a little over a week ago, saying that they are a “cancer” that is “stoking national division” by amplifying “fringe voices” and forcing “journalists to make bad decisions on a daily basis.”
The letter was written by Ariana Pekary, who Fox News noted described herself as an “integral member” of MSNBC’s “The Last Word with Lawrence O’Donnell.”
“July 24th was my last day at MSNBC. I don’t know what I’m going to do next exactly but I simply couldn’t stay there anymore,” Pekary wrote. “My colleagues are very smart people with good intentions. The problem is the job itself. It forces skilled journalists to make bad decisions on a daily basis.”
Pekary said that at MSNBC it was “practically baked in to the editorial process” that decisions on what and who give coverage to were based on what would generate the most ratings for the network. She said that behind closed doors “industry leaders will admit the damage that’s being done.”
Pekary begins her letter by sharing quotes of what people said to her over the last couple of years as she pondered leaving the network due to the detrimental effect that it is having on society.
“July 24th was my last day at MSNBC. I don’t know what I’m going to do next exactly but I simply couldn’t stay there anymore,” Pekary wrote. “My colleagues are very smart people with good intentions. The problem is the job itself. It forces skilled journalists to make bad decisions on a daily basis.”
Pekary said that at MSNBC it was “practically baked in to the editorial process” that decisions on what and who give coverage to were based on what would generate the most ratings for the network. She said that behind closed doors “industry leaders will admit the damage that’s being done.”
A high profile TV veteran reportedly told her, “We are a cancer and there is no cure. But if you could find a cure, it would change the world.”
“As it is, this cancer stokes national division, even in the middle of a civil rights crisis,” Pekary said. “The model blocks diversity of thought and content because the networks have incentive to amplify fringe voices and events, at the expense of others… all because it pumps up the ratings.”
“Context and factual data are often considered too cumbersome for the audience,” Pekary later added. “There may be some truth to that (our education system really should improve the critical thinking skills of Americans) – but another hard truth is that it is the job of journalists to teach and inform, which means they might need to figure out a better way to do that. They could contemplate more creative methods for captivating an audience. Just about anything would improve the current process, which can be pretty rudimentary (think basing today’s content on whatever rated well yesterday, or look to see what’s trending online today).”

Her accusation about MSNBC is that it makes decisions that are motivated by a desire to increase ratings. All cable “news” channels do that. She’s no hero. She’s not advocating for more left vs right balance, only that MSNBC spend less time obsessing about Trump.
These people are not journalists. They’re all advocates for Leftist ideology.

it’s admirable to want to see the good in people. I also think its important to see the world the way it is and to learn from history. Over the past 120 years, Leftists have perpetuated so much death and destruction, it’s unfathomable. The same ideology that fueled this evil is alive and well in today’s Communist China and the American Left. They share a common goal. Destroy western democracies.
The fact that a handful of “reasonable” Leftists like her, the NYT writer and Bill Maher are now speaking out is ample proof how advanced this movement is. Consider them the canary in the coal mine.

… is the beginning of her transformation into a decent, normal human being dedicated to ending violence, hatred, systemic racism (socialism), bigotry, and crime. And she will dedicate her future to improving the life of everyone on the planet with better healthcare, better safety, and a better environment through reason, facts, and science guided by intelligence, history, and faith …
In other words, I hope she really swallowed the Red Pill and will eventually abandon all of her faith in Leftism and it’s derivatives and allies and it’s cruel and evil intentions. Looking at Ariana’s intelligent eyes I don’t see the fervor of a believer in a dark, utopian NWO. but a good person who’s reached the inevitable conclusion that one cannot be part of an evil enterprise, and remain unscathed by it. She probably never should have been at MSNBC in the first place.
The lady has saved her ‘soul’ by quitting. She may be the poorer for it economically, but can now live her life as a normal human being without an axe to grind. Mucho luck to Ariana Pekary!

Seriously? That’s her criticism? Because if it were true that MSNBC were so focused on maximizing ratings, it would be a far better news organization. To state what should be obvious, the constant left-wing bias and the distortions and outright lies are harming the ratings, severely. I firmly believe that there is a large market out there for a genuinely unbiased, politically neutral, just-the-facts news outlet–certainly more of a market than exists for yet another hysterical left-wing propaganda mouthpiece–so if MSNBC wanted to maximize its ratings, it would be going for that audience.

Whereas I can’t buy into the idea that A.
