The judge has run amok. This is the same judge presiding over the Flynn case which, just this week, devolved into a “fiasco.”
The Wall Street Journal reported:
Well, that was bizarre. We’re referring to the fiasco Tuesday of what was supposed to be the sentencing of Michael Flynn. The sentencing was postponed until next year, but not before federal Judge Emmet Sullivan damaged his own reputation with an extraordinary public attack on the former national security adviser for a crime he’s not been charged with or admitted to.
Story continues below advertisementMr. Flynn pleaded guilty a year ago to a single count of lying to the FBI. Yet after being assured that the former three-star general is sticking with his plea, Judge Sullivan unloaded on the defendant over his supposed violation of the Foreign Agents Registration Act, or FARA.
The outburst was too much even for the lawyers for Special Counsel Robert Mueller, who had to tell the judge that Mr. Flynn did not represent any foreign entity while at the White House. Judge Sullivan later apologized, sort of, telling the courtroom not “to read too much into” his outburst about “treason.” But that came after the falsehood made global headlines.

Judge orders deported asylum seekers to be returned to US, in Trump administration rebuke

A federal judge on Wednesday took the extraordinary step of ordering that asylum seekers who sued after their deportation be returned to the U.S. to have their claims heard anew, ruling against the Trump administration’s revised asylum policies.
The ruling from U.S. District Judge Emmet Sullivan in Washington came a day after the same judge presided over a contentious sentencing hearing for former national security adviser Michael Flynn — in which he questioned whether the ex-White House official committed “treason” and accused him of selling out the United States to foreign interests. He later delayed Flynn’s sentencing until 2019, as part of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation.
In his sweeping ruling Wednesday against the Trump administration’s immigration policies, Sullivan said recent changes violated federal law.
“The Court holds that it has jurisdiction to hear plaintiffs’ challenges to the credible fear policies, that it has the authority to order the injunctive relief, and that, with the exception of two policies, the new credible fear policies are arbitrary, capricious, and in violation of the immigration laws,” Sullivan concluded.
Sullivan went a big step further by ordering that “the government to return to the United States the plaintiffs who were unlawfully deported and to provide them with new credible fear determinations consistent with the immigration laws.”
In addition to returning asylum seekers to the U.S., Sullivan blocked the Trump administration policies from being further applied.
Fox News has reached out to the Justice Department for comment on the decision.
The revised rules were announced by then-Attorney General Jeff Sessions over the summer. The new policy made it harder for asylum seekers to make “credible fear claims” of domestic or gang-related violence back home, in expedited removal immigration proceedings.
“The vast majority of the current asylum claims are not valid,” Sessions said in June.
Federal officials said they made changes to prevent fraud within the asylum system, though the policy also enabled speedy deportations that were later challenged.
A group of asylum seekers, backed by the American Civil Liberties Union, sued the Trump administration in federal court.
“This ruling is a defeat for the Trump administration’s all-out assault on the rights of asylum seekers,” Jennifer Chang Newell, managing attorney of the ACLU’s Immigrants’ Rights Project, who argued the case, said in a statement Wednesday. “The government’s attempt to obliterate asylum protections is unlawful and inconsistent with our country’s longstanding commitment to provide protection to immigrants fleeing for their lives.”
The ACLU represented women who had endured “extensive persecution in the form of sexual and physical violence.”

Thanks, I’m not offended, you are right, America is a constitutional republic, but as a matter of interest, by what means does a constitutional republic operate? If it is not a democratic means, and I’m not being facetious, how would you describe it? Right now what exists is a mess, judges do what they please, thus illegals are kicked out of the country and a judge instructs that they be brought back, crooks of the Democratic party walk free – after lying to the FBI – but Republicans face imprisonment for lying to the FBI while Democrats do not, a fraudulently created Special Counsel hounds Republicans and ignores Democrat crooks like Hillary Clinton, Loretta Lynch, James Clapper, John lying son of a bitch Brennan, Susan Rice. And no one can stop this complete shambles! What the hell has gone wrong? No one seems to be in charge or have control of a system gone mad – thanks to the left who are just vile dregs of humanity. Your are right about the lying, and it occurs all round. People have lost their morals and conscience, and lawyers are generally liars lower than shark dung resting on the bottom of the ocean. So thus judges are liars, after all simply being graduated, failed lawyers who specialized in lies and deceit. No one could say I appear a religious man, but I firmly believe in God and His laws, and in Judeo-Christians principles, so endeavor to be honest and truthful, but nowadays this is a thing of the past, so we see society rotting.

That’s why I was absolutely stunned that the American people would really pas that off as if it were nothing. Pelosi’s statement should have been enough to get Americans on the phone to tell their reps and senators to put on the brakes. They did not. Several decades before when HRC tried to pass HillaryCare under her husband’s admin. the people rose up and stopped this assault on our medical system. Yet most people today still let themselves off the hook from any positive citizen participation by telling themselves it won’t make any difference. The Left, however, is very engaged, and no their actions make a difference.

I hear you, Gene. Our Constitution specifically grants all matters concerning immigration to the President and Congress. No Federal District judge has the authority to hear, rule, decide or opine on any case involving illegal immigrants. Trump does not have to obey him! If Trump had first rate legal advisers instead of his third rate legal liars, he’d know this. At this point, the bucks stop with President Trump. He must intervene and do what he has full authority to do to protect General Michael Flynn who did NOT lie to the FBI.

My first impression of this judge was a good one as he seemed to believe that General Flynn should not have plead guilty, then the judge went into a tirade calling the generals actions treasonous, and now he wants all deported people returned to the U.S.A. because he thinks that if someone even thinks they are at risk then they are ! REALLY ? Now I’m thinking this judge is a leftist loony or the very least insane.

I read somewhere that Sullivan went off because POS Mueller dropped the 2 new accusations the day of the trial, but he was accusing / abusing the wrong man!! Mueller was trying to make sure Flynn didn’t change his plea, blackmail once again.

They encourage people to make that dangerous journey in which a huge percentage of the women are raped and sometimes murdered by the human traffickers. Children are also frequently trafficked and used as a means to help non family related people get into the country.
It would help a lot if we push Congress to end birthright citizenship. It’s purpose was to guarantee that the children of slaves in the USA were granted their citizenship. It is time for the law to ended. Everyone in the world knows if you can get here to have your baby that child will become a legal citizen. Then the path is open for a huge number of family to come here and receive benefits. Congress is not going to act on politically incorrect measures unless the citizens get off their behinds and put the pressure on their representatives. Even some Democrats would probably fold under pressure despite their party being for open borders.

This garbage happening in Canada where faith gokdy prevented from debates for Toronto Mayor. She was third in polling. She gave money for TV advertisement and money returned with no reason given for refusal. On top of that when she sued a Canadian version of outer American Judges dismissed the case. She had solid claim but thebswamo won up north. By law the station had to accept ad but law ignored.
On top of that the media company suing her for 40,000 for lawyer fees. This on top of her fee for her lawyer if 50,000 to bring case to court. You can not make up how conservatives are hurt. Yet she still finished third with all the resistance.

This seems strange. If they were deported, that would have been done by an immigration court. I believe that decision can be appealed to the Board of Immigration Appeals. Then that decision is appealed to the Circuit Court of Appeals. How did a District Court Judge get involved?
