Primary Day is here, with key races stretching from Maine to North Dakota, South Carolina, and Nevada as voters head to the polls to decide Senate, House, gubernatorial, and other critical contests.
The biggest race to watch may be in Maine, where Nazi-tattoed woman abuser Graham Platner—dogged by controversy—is expected to face longtime Republican Sen. Susan Collins, who has held the seat for three decades.
In Nevada, Republican Gov. Joe Lombardo faces a difficult reelection fight in a state Democrats are desperate to reclaim.
And in South Carolina, a crowded field of Trump-aligned Republicans is battling for the governor’s mansion, but it was Lt. Gov. Pamela Evette who secured President Trump’s coveted endorsement, giving her a major boost heading into Election Day.

House Minority leader Hakeem Jeffries pled ignorance on the substantive allegations: “I haven’t followed these allegations closely, but what I have said is that violence against women in any way, shape, or form is unacceptable” (Red Wave).
Platner’s closing argument was that it really isn’t about him: “I think a lot of folks at the national level misunderstand,” he said, to murmurs of agreement from an audience of Maine voters well-aware of the swarm of national media outlets lining the edges of the room. “The reason they keep getting everything wrong is they think this is a race about me, but it isn’t. This is a race about us” (Politico).
Governor Mills remains on the ballot (Decision Desk).
Note as well: Another layer of complexity and … well … stupidity is the fact that Maine uses ranked choice voting (Maine).
Lindsey Graham is running to secure his seat for another term in the Senate. President Trump: Lindsey has been a wonderful friend, and has always been there when I needed him…. Lindsey Graham has my Complete and Total Endorsement for Re-Election. Election Day is Tuesday, June 9th. GET OUT AND VOTE FOR LINDSEY — HE WILL NEVER LET YOU DOWN! (Truth).
Also watch South Carolina’s 1st Congressional seat—the one being vacated by Nancy Mace. Trump has not endorsed anyone: Seven Democrats are running (SCPR).
Nine Republicans (Ballotopedia).
Trump won this lowcountry district by 14 points (Cook).
Watch the race in Nevada for their second Congressional district. Rep. Mark Amodei (R) is retiring from the district that Trump carried by 14 points. Republicans have 13 candidates on the ballot. Decision Desk: two have broken away from the rest of the pack: retired Air Force Lt. Col. David Flippo and former state Sen. James Settelmeyer. This race will also test the president’s endorsement power. Trump has backed Flippo, while Amodei and Lombardo are supporting Settelmeyer (Decision Desk).
