The Ratings Are In: Viewers Sent Fox News an Unmistakable Message on First Night Without Tucker Carlsoni

The ratings curve that used to peak for Fox News when Tucker Carlson’s 8 p.m. time slot came around cratered Monday nght as viewers used their clickers to react to Carlson’s abrupt firing.

By: Jack Davis, Western Journal, April 26, 2023:

Fox announced Monday that Carlson was no longer with the network and that for the time being, rotating hosts will fill his spot.

With Brian Kilmeade taking the first show, viewers apparently decided they were not curious enough about what the program might hold to tune in and find out.

Fox’s 8 p.m. time slot, which attracted 3.2 million viewers the Monday before Carlson was forced to walk the plank, garnered 2.6 million yesterday, according to Mediaite. That was still good enough to take first place in the time slot.

Without Carlson to draw viewers in, Fox lost the 9 p.m. time slot to MSNBC, as Sean Hannity’s 2.5 million viewers were eclipsed by the 2.7 million who tuned in to see Rachel Maddow.

In terms of viewers in the 25 to 54 demographic, Fox’s substitute show was 37 percent lower in the ratings than what Carlson achieved in that time.

The Hollywood Reporter noted that Newsmax seemed to be the biggest gainer from Fox’s loss.

The network’s 8 p.m. offering, “Eric Bolling The Balance,” attracted 531,000 viewers, while its 9 p.m. show, “Greg Kelly Reports,” attracted 540,000.

That was roughly three times the averages for those shows. Bolling’s show averaged 145,000 viewers during the first quarter of the year and Kelly averaged 141,000.

Fox is suffering in more than just the ratings department following Carlson’s departure.

Don’t forget they trashed Lou Dobbs for reporting the news, probably the best news show on TV.

They’ve totally lost my business. Thank God I never signed up for any of their subscription services.

The only other benefit I see is that I’ll never have to watch that horrible “AND YOUR NEXT LINE IS FREE!!!!” commercial again.

It shows the lack of information and critical thinking that is destroying the world when Rachel Meadows (suffering badly from the dreaded TDS illness) can get 2.7 million people watching her rubbishy show.

Lots of speculation but only ONE FACT: The Maoist Thuigs who run our nation want the truth eliminated and Tucker had to go . Pick a reason, any reason, bu the has to go! Tucker has emerged as one of the most charismatic leaders in contemporary America. He has it all, charisma, articulate, deeply knowledgeable, impeccable credentials, excellent lineage, popularity among at least 70% o the population, name recognition, wealth, and the list continues. Yes, he has , and electability. It is time to put all of these talents and assets to work and do one of two things. Most likely, declare himself a candidate for the Republican nomination. This would give him the platform on which he could continue his expose of the Left and the cabals that rule America. No other platform could exceed that one for the next 18 months. He does not have to be hostile towards Trump. He could drop the hint that he was really seeking the VP slot on a Trump ticket, but would be an alternative if for any reason Trump was eliminated from the race. On the other hand, he could ally himself with RFK, Jr. and seek the Democratic nomination, a quest we all know will be a failure. The Democrats are not a political party. They are an organized criminal syndicates that masquerades as the Democratic Party. However, it would be an opportunity to run as an independent wit the real potential of so splitting the vote that RFK, Jr. could well emerge the winner., or with sufficient electoral votes to give Trump the Presidency.
In the meantime, Tucker’s entering the race would allow him to reveal the vast amount of insider information that expose the machinations and evil of the crime syndicate that runs our nation. Perhaps, even break the back of he two party uniparty system that has poisoned the well of American civilization.

Fox didn’t expect this. They probably would have let Carlson stay if they knew this was going to happen. Look how many listeners were lost when they fired O’Reilly. MSMBC is doing much better now.
