‘Dangerous Trend’: Medical Schools Are Ditching Standardized Tests In The Name Of Racial Diversity

Lowering admission standards to boost ‘diversity’ are putting patient wellbeing “at risk.”

The only way  to ensure the best medical care to see older doctors educated before the left systematically began destroying our best institutions. Leave the diversity doctor pool to the woke.

‘Dangerous Trend’: Medical Schools Are Ditching Standardized Tests In The Name Of ‘Diversity’

By: Alexa Schwerha on April 22, 2023

  • Medical schools are continuing to drop Medical College Admission Test (MCAT) requirements in favor of alternative routes available to prospective applicants, experts told the Daily Caller News Foundation.
  • Dropping the MCAT in favor of holistic admission practices may negatively impact the medical profession by “eliminating” a “standard for schools to consider when admitting students who demonstrate the aptitude to be good doctors,” Laura Morgan, Do No Harm program manager, told the DCNF.
  • “It’s not adequate because it is subjective, as opposed to standardized tests which are objective metrics,” she explained.

A developing medical school trend to ditch the Medical College Admission Test (MCAT) requirement may not bode well for the future of the profession, medical watchdog group Do No Harm told the Daily Caller News Foundation.

Approximately 40 medical schools across the country have dropped the MCAT, a multiple choice exam that determines an individual’s ability to problem solve, think critically, and understand concepts about medical study, as a requirement for some applying students, according to a list compiled by Inspira Advantage. Do No Harm alleged that dropping the requirement is another way schools aim to bolster diversity on campus but asserted that it is a “dangerous trend,” according to its analysis.

“The MCAT has been shown to predict who has the best chance to be successful in medical school,” Do No Harm Program Manager Laura Morgan told the DCNF. “Eliminating it removes a proven standard for schools to consider when admitting students who demonstrate the aptitude to be good doctors.”

The MCAT is developed and administered by the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC), according to its website. The association has pivoted to encouraging a holistic admission model that considers an applicants “experiences and attributes” alongside academic achievement and uses it as a factor on its Diversity, Inclusion, Culture and Equity inventory survey sent out to medical schools across the country to weigh their commitment to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) practices.

“Standardized tests are backed by evidence and can be objectively evaluated. To conduct a ‘holistic review,’ some schools are requiring their admissions committee members to take training on how to evaluate applicants based on experiences and attributes,” Morgan told the DCNF, adding that the AAMC permits race and ethnicity to be used as an admission factor when it aligns with the school’s diversity-based mission and goals. “It’s not adequate because it is subjective, as opposed to standardized tests which are objective metrics.”

Javarro Russell, AAMC’s senior director of admissions testing services, told the DCNF that every “U.S. M.D.-granting medical schools require the MCAT exam” with some exception for alternative routes such as through joint BS/MD programs. Such programs are “designed for students to transition from an undergraduate to a medical degree through an eight year commitment, according to Inspira Advantage.

The MCAT exam was created with the input of medical schools for their use in the admissions process,” Russell explained. “The AAMC does not – and cannot – mandate if or how medical schools use the MCAT exam. Every medical school sets its own criteria for selecting the students who will contribute to its mission and successfully complete rigorous medical school curricula.”

One of the schools that does not require all applicants to submit an MCAT score is City University of New York (CUNY) School of Medicine, Do No Harm reported. A school representative said during a seminar about STEM and medicine that students accepted into its BS/MD program do not have the MCAT “to gatekeep them from going into medical school.”

At CUNY, the program takes seven years and aims to “increase the number of physicians of African-American, Hispanic and other ethnic backgrounds who have been historically under-represented in the medical profession and whose communities have been historically underserved by primary care practitioners,” according to its website.

The University of Pennsylvania’s School of Medicine exempted minority students from the MCAT if they complete a summer research program offered through five historically black colleges and universities. Exempted students must have maintained a 3.6 grade point average and showcase “character, leadership and motivation for a career in medicine.”

“Medical school admissions committees recognize that identifying and admitting students who have the potential to be good doctors requires more information than test scores, and consider the MCAT exam alongside the entire application to understand scores in context,” Russell told the DCNF. “Medical schools carefully consider each application using holistic admissions, considering the full range of each applicant’s background and portfolio.”

“Holistic” ie DIE. This has been going on for at least 10 years here in uk, when I first noticed it in London, accompanying my parents to the local hospital: transvestites looking like men but wearing lipstick and high heels, not caring the effect on their patients, particularly elderly people.

Each now stunt they pull is designed to cause harm and also to bury a mountain of previous stunts that already caused a great deal of injury and death. We focus on, and worry about, the latest or future injury or death and forget about what already happened. Endless insanity and injury and murder becomes normal. The medical community is already guilty of premeditated mass injury and mass murder. We are being slowly and methodically crippled and murdered, and it has been in progress for a lot longer than people want to think about.

Stunt: an unusual or difficult feat requiring great skill or daring
especially : one performed or undertaken chiefly to gain attention or publicity

I ditched Affirmative Action doctors a long time ago. One misdiagnosed my pulmonary problem and I had to figure it out by myself and get proper treatment. In college and med school I saw who was getting admitted without any vetting based on race and ethnicity and for free with no loans to repay, free board and supplies and books, lower amount of classes per semester, paid summer school and tutors. I worked while in school and every summer and paid my way and paid off my loans. My middle class tax paying parents had to pay for this as well. The message is that they cannot do it on their own. No AA for Jews, Asians and not needed. Unfortunately, this victimized the people of AA who are competent and bear the stigma that they cannot do it. The bigotry of low expectations is what the dems are doing.

We have been attacked on every conceivable front at the same time. We see a long list of problems as individual problems instead of as a coordinated multi-front war against our Republic and our civilization. Our Republic is (was) the icon of freedom. Western civilization was moving toward freedom and free people controlling government, and moving away from families of wealth and power controlling everything (kings, queens – royalty). The only way rule by bloodlines can survive is if self-rule by free people is utterly destroyed. The families of wealth and power out to conquer us are also out to conquer the world.

Come to uk where you’re lucky to find a white doctor or African or other background other than muslim ones and apart from the few highly educated ones we are seeing diversity destroying our healthcare as my doc who is one of the few stated on the trashiest letter of results “ the worst English he had ever seen and a total rubbish you can’t understand “, he had to do the blood test himself after the muslima had no clue and had turned the needle 90 degrees inside my arm so I was badly bruised and I would refuse to let her near me again. They are lazy , big headed and I could have sued one of them for assault after refusing me a commode , physically moving me causing me extreme pain, needing morphine for which the head of staff demanded to know what had happened. I’ve witnessed too many racist acts towards patients especially the elderly you try getting them reported and you’re deemed racist so firsthand I can tell you the standard is beyond disgusting in some towns while others are lacking in healthcare where the majority are white . Muslim carers are notoriously poor in their hygiene and don’t wash their hands, or wipe their noses on their scarves with the exception of the few good ones , one of which kept me alive and was appalled at the others. Diversity kills people not save them

Making sick patients sicker being their goal, why not flood the system with incompetent bumblers?
If the modern medical establishment was interested in healing patients and restoring them to health, I’d say that was a problem.
Not for Pig Pharma and their Rockefeller hoplites
