United Airlines Graduates First Class Of New Pilots: 80% of Them Are Women or People of Color

31

United is the first major airline to have its own flight school, opening Aviate Academy in December. The airline says 80% of the first class, of which Foster and Arroyo are a part, are women or people of color, because United says it is committed to ensuring that at least half of its Aviate pilot candidates are women or people of color.

Straight up racism.

”Specifically to us at United, we need to look like on the flight deck and in the cabin, we need to look like the customers we serve to represent the communities we fly in and out of,” said United Captain Michael Bonner.

United says opened its first flight school in January of 2022 -the first in-house flight training operation is the first for any major airline in the United States.

Half of the graduating class was minority women because there is a need for more minority and female commercial pilots. I don’t know about you but I don’t want my pilots chosen by the color of their skin or their genitalia. I want skill and merit hurling those tin cans in the air. The airlines axed the most qualified pilots for being unvaxxed for …. this?

Unvaccinated pilots suing United Airlines for firings.

NPR: Facing of a severe pilot shortage, airlines are ramping up efforts to recruit a new generation of pilots, and in the process, they’re trying to open the cockpit door to women and people of color…..

You’re eligible to apply for United Aviate Academy if you:

  • Are at least 18 years old
  • Are a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident (we do not sponsor foreign visas)
  • Have a high school diploma or GED equivalent

Most major commercial airlines require a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university along with these flight ratings: you must have a minimum of 1,500 hours of flight time, be over the age of 23 and be able to pass a 1st Class Medical exam.

Was there a lowering of standards to get these people into commercial aviation? Do we really want less qualified pilots flying us because they are more “representative” than white males?

Traditionally, airlines looked to the military to provide a steady stream of qualified candidates. Civilian pilots had to come to the table with thousands of flying hours cobbled together on their own — the Federal Aviation Administration requires a minimum of 1,500 hours of piloting experience to earn an Airline Transport Pilot certificate.

First Class Graduates From United Flight School

By: Russ Niles, AV Web, January 25, 2023:

United Airlines has graduated its first class of new pilots from its Aviate Academy in Arizona. The first class of 51 new pilots, 80 percent of them women or people of color, got their wings earlier this week. United wants to crank out 5,000 new pilots from the school over the next seven years and it wants at least half of them to be female and/or people of color. It called the graduation “an important step towards training the next generation of talented, qualified, and motivated aviators.”

Aviate graduates don’t go directly to the flight deck of an airliner. Many will become instructors at the academy to build the balance of the 1,500 hours they need to become an FO. Others will build time at Embry-Riddle, Purdue and Hampton Universities, which are affiliated with Aviate. United says it will take graduates about six years to finally get in the right seat of a United Express aircraft or take other roles within the organization. United says it needs about 10,000 pilots over the next seven years.

Other than being colored or women what are their qualifications? The only other qualifications that would have helped them would being gay or a tranny.

We now know how they will shut down aviation. United is just the first airline that will adopt this policy.

Of course the current active pilots all have damaged hearts so that’s not a solution, either.

If I want to play Russian Roulette I’ll just get a .38 Special revolver. Put one in the cylinder, spin it, and hope for the best.

Correct. Which is why that I have accepted the fact that I will never travel to Europe again flying on commercial airlines.

Flying on a private airline, where you can vet the flight crew before boarding, is another possibility but probably very expensive.

So they have effectively destroyed the commercial aviation industry..

The problem is they’re all woke. The West is now a woke civilization; there’s been a takeover from the top by a radical ideology, like Communism. This is going to be a long struggle, and it probably doesn’t end until the whole civilization falls.

Most commercial pilots are former Air Force or Navy pilots. They then spend lots of time flying freight, and only when they’ve logged the requisite number of hours, do they fly passengers. They then have to qualify for the particular commercial plane that they will be flying, first on simulators, and then by logging the requisite hours. Then they can be the flight engineer, copilot and then eventually the captain.

Coming off the street into United Flight School cannot substitute for the above experience.

Even riding the NYC busses, I’ve noticed a general skill difference with white male drivers, black make drivers, and women drivers.

United is nuts. I t(ink that this stunt will help them out. With passengers flocking to non-woke airlines, they may not need their
Rejected number of pilots.

Corporations can buy their own planes and hire their own pilots to fly their own people on their own schedule.

Sorry, but the POLITICAL CORRECT are untrust worthy. Just like many people in Hollyweird, who are no blacklisted United Airlines is now blacklisted. When I began flying as a kid many of the pilots were WW Two veterans. I never had any fear of flying. We see more proof of what the FBI agent Cleon Skousen predicted in 1958 in his Goals of the Communists. United Airlines is more proof of Skousen’s Goal #37:
#37. Infiltrate and gain control of big business.
I wonder how long it will be until we begin to see United Air Lines planes fall out of the sky?
Other businesses that have been taken over in places like the state of Marxigan include DTE Energy and Consumers Energy. That state will begin to see rolling blackouts in the near future. Marxigan’s citizens, known as ELOI, will surely begin to beg for God to fix it. They had their chance and blew it.

Don’t hire Pilots based on merit, education level, or demonstrated skill. It’s the smart thing to do.
Add that to the already poorly qualified controllers that replaced highly qualified ones, and you have a recipe for really safe air travel. What could possibly go wrong with this marvelous
new policy ?

I think each and every one of these 80% DIE-versity hires should be promptly promoted to fly Biden around in Air Force One, Two, etc, etc.

Time now to ensure I never book a flight on a United aircraft if that’s some of their major requirements.I don’t care who the pilot is but believe the selection criteria should have – competence as the primary goal of recruitment as well as selection. Not your freaking gender or skin color –

Where did they ever get the idea that women and “people of color” prefer to fly on planes piloted by the same? I happen to fall in these two categories and no one ever asked me if I prefer to fly in a plane piloted by a female person of color as opposed to a competent, skilled pilot. You can bet your bottom dollar that this woman of color will NOT fly United.

I will not be flying United Airlines, EVER! Affirmative Action in the skies will lead to more aircraft falling to the ground. You cannot have a first-class airline with second class pilots. This is putting the public in danger.

There is a “need” for minority? No, we don’t need minority pilots, we need people that can fly the damn plane! You want more minority pilots.

United wants diversity Pilots, AKA Reverse Racism. I want a skilled, experienced and competent pilot that won’t crash the plane on which I am a passenger.

Call me Psychic but if these people are going to be at the controls? I’m seeing some aircraft related disasters. Basically, it sounds like these affirmative action recipients all took a Crash Course in flying a commercial jetliner. This keeps up, they won’t need all those pilots that they keep saying that they need. Air travel is a dying business. There is no place worth traveling to. Any crashes and air travel will continue to reduce.

You do not hire Pilots on the basis of ethnicity or race. You hire on the basis of merit! My boyfriend just made 767 Captain on Delta after 15 years if flying. When he was hired right out of the US Air Force he had 2,500 flying hours. You are playing with passengers safety and lives!
