Black America’s Antisemitism Problem

The worst manifestation of the vicious bigotry is the almost daily attacks on Jews in New York’s religious neighborhoods by black attackers. This is not new but it has reached terrible new highs.

  An academic paper explores the character and sources of black anti-Semitism

  From Kanye West endorsing Hitler to Kyrie Irving inviting followers to watch a documentary about how blacks are the true Jews, anti-Semitism from prominent black figures has been in the news. A recent study explores the phenomenon of black anti-Semitism more broadly, ruling out popular explanations—and excuses—for its frequency.

  Black anti-Semitism is nothing new. It has appeared in the works of black intellectuals since at least the early-20th-century black nationalist Marcus Garvey, as Elliot Kaufman observed in Commentary, and defined politics in New York City—the American metropolis where blacks and Jews most often rub shoulders—for generations.

  But where does it come from? A new paper by sociologists Eitan Hersh of Tufts University and Laura Royden of Harvard explores this question. The pair reveal—using a survey of thousands of Americans—some shocking statistics, including that black and Hispanic young adults report anti-Semitic views at rates similar to white young adults who self-identify as “alt-right.”

  The paper torpedoes popular explanations for black anti-Semitism, like the claim that anti-Semitism is just “anti-whiteness” or an expression of solidarity with the Palestinians. But it does not, despite its attempts to do so, pinpoint the source of this prejudice, so their findings suggest simply that views like Irving and West’s are more common than we’d like to believe, and aren’t going away any time soon.

  Their finding is important nonetheless, particularly as anti-Semitic incidents reach record highs amid a surge in major cities. They clarify that these attacks are not, as some still maintain, exclusively the work of white supremacists like the shooter who targeted Pittsburgh’s Tree of Life synagogue in 2018. Rather, attacks like the stabbing and car assaults that left three men injured in Lakewood, N.J., in April exemplify the persistence of this black anti-Semitism.

  To measure anti-Semitism, Hersh and Royden asked their survey respondents three questions: Are Jews more loyal to Israel than America, is it appropriate to boycott Jewish-owned businesses to oppose Israel’s policies, and do Jews in the United States have too much power?

  

  The majority of respondents said no to these questions, but black respondents were much more likely than whites to say yes to at least one—13 percentage points more, after accounting for differences in age, sex, and education. Hispanic respondents were also slightly more likely to agree, though the difference was not statistically distinguishable from zero.

Take almost any black celebrity, even politician and do an image search with their name and Farrkhan .
You will see the results.
You will also have a hard time finding any of those people publcicy denouncing Farrakhan.
Even Juan Williams at Fox wasn’t able to denounce old Louis as an antisemite. ” He says antisemitic things but he’s not an antisemite ” is what Juan said.
I wonder if the Nation shakes these people down so that they’re afraid to denounce him or something even more sinister is going on.
We can at least credit West for tipping over this septic truck because the elephant was always in the room yet few dared to notice.

What Juan Williams says sounds like oxymorons. Does what he quoted sound intelligent? Anyone that is on Farrakhan’s side is an anti Semite. The Blacks should be educated that Jews marched and died with Blacks in the Civil Rights Era. People like Farrakhan & his followers are a blight. Al Sharpton is another one and he sticks himself and his big mouth into everything!

Bravo. What is disgusting to me is the leftist Jewish groups that cry for other minorities in the name of social justice and ignore anti-Semitism. I hope that these trotskys get the same treatment that he did. Jews were at the forefront of the civil rights movement – ironic and predictable that they would become the target of hatred now specially by those they fought for. If the Jewish people do not use their intelligence, money and will to fight now nazi germany will arise under the commies mostly dems in America.

When in college I worked at the Teen Post program in South Central Los Angeles and noticed that ALL of the mom and pop stores in the ghetto were either owned by Jews or Koreans.

I noticed when dropping into such establishments that the owners routinely assumed that I was just another AA woman with marginal education and was challenged in counting change. They would frequently give me incorrect change on a purchase and simply slap it on the counter. I always caught them and pointed out that they were short changing me! They were also frequently just plain rude and dismissive! This was in spite of the fact that my manner of dress and speech were consistent with employment and education. The only reason that seemed apparent to me was bigotry based up skin color.

My take on the situation was, and still is, that Jewish and Korean immigrants were not able to open stores in predominantly White areas and or “good neighborhoods.” They were limited to businesses in the ghettos. As a result, the only exposure to Jews that many lower class Blacks had were the more recent immigrants, who frequently tried to cheat and treated them rudely. Because Jews were frequently the only White people that ghetto Blacks saw, they generalized it to “being White.”

When in 8th grade I had a classmate tell me that she “hated these Jews.” I then asked her “How can you tell someone’s religion by just looking at them?” Her reply was “Jew is just another word that means White people.” She truly believed that the words were synonyms. So many Blacks may not even know what Jews are!

So it is multfactorial and a function of the limitation that Jews faced that forced them into the ghettos for business. The constant exposure to people with limited education made it easy to cheat them and to behave in a “smarter than Thou” manner. This reinforced the Black belief that they were hated by Jews and Asians. This is why all those Jewish and Asian businesses were burned during the Watts riots. And also many Blacks simply don’t know that Jewish is a religion.

I have heard this riot and violence justification garbage in the past from many African-Americans especially from a Black woman who got all the entitlements of affirmative action and other perks like being a resident assistant in my college that she was not qualified for and that I could not get even tho I am a member of the smallest minority in America and she still blamed the Jews for all of her problems. Didja ever think that the Koreans who armed themselves during the David Dinkins NYC pogroms against them and the Jews both of whom owned small stores were getting tired of all the stealing from their stores and were suspicious of many of their customers. It is difficult to differentiate customers by their speech and dress and the need for self defense causes folks to judge their likely attackers and predators quickly and take precautions. I did not give some folks their reputation, they did. Jesse Jackson once said that when he was walking alone at night and heard male voices behind him he was relieved when he saw that they were white.

The biggest and worst racist group are dimocrap knee grows. The bigotry against other races because of affirmative action programs that discriminate against Caucasians is legion.

One more thing. A huge threat to Conservative Jews are leftist/LIEberal jews. The biggest freedom fighters are Conservative Jews. Make sure to differentiate twixt the two. LIEberal jews are dangers to freedom and justice. Conservative Jews are net assets to any nation. This is what it is all about when we consider the situation. It is LIEberals of any race or religion who are the enemies of freedom and justice.
