NPR, Legacy Media Smears Beloved Assassinated Shinzo Abe As ‘Divisive Arch-Conservative’ After Glowing Obit For Fidel Castro, Yaser Arafat, ISIS Caliph

Shinzo Abe was a great friend to America.
Shinzo Abe was a great friend to Israel.
Therefore the Democrat-media-axis hates him. That is the sewer that is American media.

When Fidel Castro died, NPR called him a “prominent international figure.” On Yasser Arafat’s death “a freedom fighter.” When ISIS caliph al-Baghdadi died, the Washington Post called him an “austere religious scholar.” On Prime Minister’s Abu’s assassination, NPR’s statement: “a divisive arch-conservative and an ultranationalist.

NPR’s report on Abe’s death smeared the popular Japanese leader, painting him in negative terms to its left-leaning audience. NPR was not alone in its apparent condemnation of the Japanese leader, with CBS describing him as a “right-wing nationalist” and a “polarizing figure” who made “controversial” decisions.

The Associated Press published an article claiming that Abe left behind a “divided legacy.”

Rebel News: The news of Abe’s passing, describing the leader in negative terms, is in line with the legacy media’s history of condemning dead conservative figures like conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh and journalist Andrew Breitbart.

The New York Times wrote, “Rush Limbaugh, Who Built Talk Radio Into Right-Wing Attack Machine, Dies.”

In contrast, publications have been glowing in their descriptions of dead communists like Fidel Castro, whom the AP described as a “fiery Venezuelan leader.”

NY Post: Conservatives ripped into NPR on Friday after the liberal outlet referred to Japan’s former leader Shinzo Abe as a “divisive arch-conservative” soon after he was assassinated by a madman with a homemade gun.

NPR offered up the description of Japan’s longest-serving prime minister in a tweet linking to its coverage of his very public slaying.

The outlet ended up deleting the “divisive arch-conservative” tweet and replaced it with one calling the 67-year-old an “ultranationalist.”

Outraged conservatives immediately unleashed on NPR’s characterization of Abe, with some drawing comparisons to how the outlet controversially referred to Cuban President Fidel Castro as a “prominent international figure” when he died.

Former North Carolina Rep. Mark Walker was among those to point out NPR’s past controversial descriptions of former leaders, including Cuba’s Fidel Castro and Palestine’s assassinated President Yasser Arafat.

“When Fidel Castro died, NPR called him a “prominent international figure.” On Yasser Arafat’s death “a freedom fighter.” On Prime Minister’s Abu’s assassination, NPR’s statement: “a divisive arch-conservative and an ultranationalist.” Brought to you by your US tax dollars,” Walker tweeted.

NPR Smears Assassinated Shinzo Abe As ‘Divisive Arch-Conservative’ After Glowing Obit For Fidel Castro

Prime Minister Shinzo Abe attending a press conference at the Prime Minister’s Official Residence in Chiyoda Ward,

When NPR used the assassination of conservative former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe to smear him as a “divisive arch-conservative,” it reminded readers that its name might be more accurately spelled out as National Propaganda Racket than National Public Radio.

“Former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, a divisive arch-conservative and one of his nation’s most powerful and influential figures, has died after being shot during a campaign speech Friday in western Japan, hospital officials said,” NPR tweeted before deleting it.

It then replaced the tweet with a different one calling Abe an “ultranationalist.”

The story highlights Abe’s long tenure as prime minister but conveniently omits that far from being a fringe radical, Abe was voted in three times with a majority of votes, the third by a sweeping two-third “supermajority.” Thus, Abe was only “divisive” to the left-wing corporate media who didn’t like his devotion to a strong economy and military, as well as his rapport with Trump. Abe held the longest tenure as prime minister in Japan to date.

The article briefly cites his accomplishments, noting that the Japanese economy “unexpectedly returned to a healthy growth” in the hands of the conservative PM, before quickly closing with his alleged negligence in not closing down the country during the pandemic, which was a policy preference shared by mainstream conservatives.

The article stands in sharp contrast with one NPR published on Fidel Castro’s death, celebrating the despot. “One of the most prominent international figures in the last half of the 20th century, Castro inspired both passionate love and hate,” the article read. “Many who later lost faith in him can remember how they once admired the man who needed just a dozen men to launch the Cuban Revolution.”

Dictators are better friends of the corporate media than economic conservatives.

NPR wasn’t the only outlet to go after Abe in his death. CBS Mornings labeled Abe a “polarizing figure” and “right-wing nationalist,” whose “political opinions were controversial.”
