Germany: Church Dismisses Vandalism by Anti-Christian Muslim Migrant as ‘Late Spring Cleaning’

What happens when all the people that Merkel brought into Germany so that she could celebrate diversity end up being unwilling to celebrate diversity themselves? A recent incident in Germany and its aftermath epitomizes the madness of the mass Muslim migration enterprise in Europe, and the impulse to cultural suicide of the Europeans who support that enterprise.

It all began in late October in the Germany city of Nordhausen. The German-language Unser Mitteleuropa reported that on October 28, “Pastor Klemens Müller happened to look out the window and watched a man carry the movable furniture out of the church. He has already lugged chairs, hymn books, the cross from the church wall and other altar items onto the forecourt and didn’t seem to be finished with his work.”

The man who was moving all these items out of the church was a Muslim migrant. When Müller asked him why he was doing what he was doing, the migrant explained that the Christian faith was “wrong” in believing that Jesus is the Son of God, and that his actions were therefore justified. “He made his point of view clear,” reports Unser Mitteleuropa, “that he cannot accept the Christian faith.”

Even after Müller confronted him, he continued removing material from the church. And so, says Unser Mitteleuropa, “there will not be a figure of Christ on the cross for the time being, because it broke during the ‘transport work.’ A showcase inside the church was also broken into and cleared out.” The crucifix that the vandal broke dates from medieval times.

The pious Muslim responsible for this arrived in Germany from Afghanistan in 2015. Despite the fact that since the mass migrant intake of 2015, Germany has seen a massive increase in crime and jihad terror plotting, the German Left remains indefatigably committed to the migrant project, even to the point of absurdity.

Consequently, it was not a huge surprise when the Neue Zürcher Zeitung reported on November 3 that the Evangelical Church in Germany (EKD), preoccupied as it is with climate change and other pressing matters, had nothing whatsoever to say about the incident in Nordhausen. While outgoing EKD Council President Heinrich Bedford-Strohm has had a great deal to say about what an “open and diverse society” must do in order to “enable the participation of migrants,” and has waxed eloquent about “mutual respect and appreciation between the arrivals and the host society,” he has been absolutely, even resolutely, silent about the spectacle of a Muslim migrant entering one of his churches and vandalizing it (including breaking a medieval crucifix) while proclaiming his Islamic disapproval of the Christian faith.

Why the silence? If a native German, say, a “right-wing extremist,” had vandalized the church in Nordhausen, wouldn’t Bedford-Strohm have had a great deal to say? Without any doubt. So why the silence when the perpetrator is a Muslim migrant?

Meanwhile, the pastor of the church where the vandalism took place dismissed it as a “late spring cleaning.” He took the opportunity to stress that the church needs to work on “ways of togetherness.”

Of course. The Evangelical Church in Germany, like all other mainstream institutions in that country and all over Western Europe, is staking the future of its own people, and of the entire continent, on the proposition that it is an act of Christian charity to take in large numbers of Muslim migrants, and that the countries involved will be substantially enriched by doing so.

It is already clear that this enrichment has been wildly overstated, and the migrants have essentially brought new burdens for native taxpayers without a concomitant benefit for native populations, but the politicians, globalists and socialists all, nonetheless remain unshakably committed to the project. They know that “diversity” is a positive value: our diversity is our strength! And this diversity must not be sullied by anything so ethnocentric and racist as expecting the new arrivals to adopt, or even to respect, the customs, laws, mores and culture of the host countries.

So this fellow despises Christianity and wants to work to destroy it. So what? Celebrate diversity! One of the many ironies is that if a German went into a mosque and started hauling furniture out, and broke some essential items, the German press would be filled with horror, and would be publishing story after story about the evils of “Islamophobia.” But in this instance, most of the German media yawned and looked the other way. The national and continental suicide must go on.

Grab some popcorn and pull up a chair. Germany, and Europe in general, is in for some interesting times.
