Poll: Trump Is More Popular Than Biden

By Staff Writer

Now, new polling has confirmed what many Americans thought all along.

A new Rasmussen poll found that Biden’s popularity amongst Americans has dropped below former presidents Donald Trump and Barack Obama.

“There’s good news and bad news for President Joe Biden,” Rasmussen said. “The good news is that most voters have a favorable opinion of him. The bad news is that his numbers aren’t better than former President Donald Trump’s, and are worse than former President Barack Obama’s.”

The poll goes on to lay out Biden’s approval numbers.

“A new national telephone and online survey by Rasmussen Reports finds that 51% of Likely U.S. Voters have at least a somewhat favorable opinion of Biden, including 33% whose opinion is Very Favorable. Forty-eight percent (48%) view Biden unfavorably, including 39% who have a Very Unfavorable opinion of him,” Rasmussen said.

That poll comes after another recent poll which found that 55% of Americans disapprove of Biden’s response to the border crisis. The poll also found that 70% of Americans are concerned or extremely concerned about the economy under Biden.

That polling came from research out of the National Republican Congressional Committee, a group that works to help Republicans fundraise and win elections.

Two key points from a memo released by the NRCC show what issues voters are concerned about:

  • As inflation fears rise and President Biden’s ratings on the economy slide, Battleground Congressional District voters are putting more trust in Republicans in Congress to deal with these economic issues than Democrats. Seven out of ten voters in battleground districts express high levels of concern about rising prices and the higher cost of living (70% extremely or very concerned). Voters are four times as likely to blame the President and Congressional Democrats (combined 42%) than they are Congressional Republicans (10%) for rising prices and the higher cost of living.
  • The border crisis is a major concern for voters and Republicans have a significant lead on this issue. President Biden’s job approval rating on this issue remains dismal (38% approve – 55% disapprove). In fact, 43% of all voters in these districts strongly disapprove of Biden’s handling of the issue (only 13% strongly approve). Voters say Republicans in Congress are better able to deal with the issue of border security than their Democratic counterparts (49% GOP – 39% DEM).
