Oman not ready to normalize ties with Israel yet, foreign minister says

This is to be expected. Under the Trump Administration, Oman was this close to normalizing their relations with Israel. Now that the Trump Administration is out of office, Oman has now put the breaks on normalizing ties with Israel. It is highly unlikely that other Gulf nations will join the Abraham Accords during the Biden Administration. The Biden Administration does not have the competence, the ambition, or the diplomatic skills to expand the Abraham Accords.

Thanks to the Democrat party of jihad and Jew-hatred, peace is postponed to see if the overthrow of America will go unchallenged.

‘Oman believes in striving for a just, comprehensive and lasting peace on the basis of the two-state solution’

Oman will not follow the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain in normalizing the ties with Israel just yet, the Gulf state’s Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr bin Hamad al-Busaidi said on Saturday.

“Oman believes in striving for a just, comprehensive and lasting peace on the basis of the two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict,” Busaidi told the Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper on Saturday, adding that “this is the only option recognized by the Arab Peace Initiative and the international community.”

“We affirm the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and just as we respect the sovereign decisions of states, we expect others to respect our sovereign decisions,” Busaidi said.

Oman has been part of the covert rapprochement between Israel and the Gulf kingdoms in recent years, a trend that included an official meeting in 2018 between Israel’s then-prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Sultan Qaboos bin Said, who ruled over Oman for 49 years until his death in 2020.

The meeting in Oman arguably represented the most important public acknowledgement of ties with Israel by a Gulf state until the Abraham Accords.
