Schumer Throws Hissy Fit, Says Media Helps ‘Despicable’ Trump ‘Win So Many People Over’

By: Mike Miller, Red State, June 2021:
If there was any doubt that Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer is incapable of breaking the rental agreement Donald Trump has had with the inside of his head for more than four years, Chucky put that doubt to rest on the floor of the Senate on Monday, throwing a panicky fit over the “despicable” former president continuing to “win so many people over.”Even better: Trump is being aided and abetted by the news media in his devious effort, whined Chucky. Who knew? Did you spit water all over your screen? I came damn close.

Earth to Chucky: With the exception of Fox News, every other major news outlet on the planet was right there with you and the Democrat Party every step of the way with your TDS-riddled efforts to remove Trump from the White House from the moment he was inaugurated. 24×7. 365 days a year. Four insidious years. Remember? We do.

There are hyperpartisan political hacks in Washington, D.C., without a shred of conscience and even less integrity, and then there’s Chuck Schumer. Other than former Democrat Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV), it’s tough to name another recent Democrat in a leadership position who comes anywhere near Chucky’s partisan hack low.

OK, Nancy Pelosi — but life on Planet Pelosi is a whole ‘nother world.

In his classic faux-melodramatic style, the ever-hyperbolic Schumer began with the following — with a straight face, no less:

“Just a note: How despicable a man is Donald Trump?! He lost an election legitimately. He can’t face that, that it was his failure. And he creates a lie, a big lie, and wins so many people over to that lie with the help of news media; and other news commentators that are lying, as well, and they know it.”

Um, Chucky? You ever catch CNN? Mr. Potato Head? Sorry, Brian Stelter? Chris Cuomo? Don Lemon? Or, perhaps, MSNBC’s delusional race-hustler, Joy Reid?

Or maybe Rachel Maddow? Speaking of Maddow, a federal judge on Friday dismissed a $10 million defamation lawsuit brought by One America News (OAN), finding that a “reasonable viewer” would know the MSNBC left-wing bomb-thrower was only offering her opinion when she called the conservative network “paid Russian propaganda.”

Back to Schumer’s seething:

“Again, Donald Trump, with his despicable lies, has lit a fire beneath Republican state legislatures, and they have launched the most sweeping voter suppression efforts in at least — at least — 80 years.

“More than 250 bills in 43 states were introduced just between the months of January and February that would restrict the right to vote.”

Complete bilge, of course. Measures taken to reduce voter fraud, Chucky,  are only intended to “restrict the right to vote” of potential fraudulent voters.

It wasn’t supposed the be this way.

Chucky lost his crap, not because of “despicable” Donald Trump, presumably Fox News et al., but because things weren’t supposed to play out as they are playing out, more than five months after Biden’s inauguration. Democrats held the House — barely, and recaptured the Senate — barely, but it was a clean sweep. On paper, anyway.

What Schumer and the Democrats fail to grasp — at least, publicly — is that Biden himself has been his own worst enemy. Prior to the election, he often played the “Look at me,” card. “Do I look like a radical socialist?” Throughout his almost 50 years in D.C., the answer was mostly, “no.” But from day one of his occupancy of the White House? Oh hell yeah. He has signed every radical left-wing executive order shoved in front of his vacant face, and then some — most likely with no questions asked.

Then, of course, the continuing Biden Border Crisis. Biden all but sent mariachi bands to the U.S.-Mexico border to welcome illegal aliens into the country — notwithstanding his nonsensical naming of Kamala Harris as his “border czar,” who in turn has only made a spectacular fool out of herself in her quest to figure out “the root causes” of the continuing invasion of illegals.

As for Chucky’s meltdown, Twitter was all over it, as one might expect, with most of the backlash either pointing to Chucky’s obsession with Trump, or Biden’s disastrous presidency. A few relevant examples:

Finally, “Blake” hit the Democrat Party nail on the head with an observation that has been true about the Democrat Party for more than 50 years:

Oh, and Chucky? That “voter suppression” you whine about? Voter ID cards?  And, God forbid, ID cards with photographs? Contrary to the “big Democrat lie,” as we reported on Monday, a recent poll found that support for requiring a photo ID to vote stands at 62% among Democrats, 87 percent among independents, and 91 percent of Republicans.

Moreover, as we reported in mid-April, according to Rasmussen, 59 percent of black voters do not believe requiring photo ID at the polls is discriminatory, close to the 62 percent overall average of the survey. Want more, Chucky? A strong 75 percent of respondents said requiring voters to show photo identification such as a driver’s license before being allowed to vote is necessary to “a fair and secure election process.”

Bottom line, Chucky? Again, per Rasmussen in mid-April:

Majorities of all racial groups – 59% of whites, 56% of blacks, and 63% of other minority voters – say it is more important to make sure there is no cheating in elections than to make it easier to vote.

The Democrats overplayed their voter ID hand, bigly, completely misjudging (or ignoring) what voters think, vs. themselves. Then again, the “root cause” of what ails the Democrat Party — and always will —remains “Donald Trump.”

Democrats. They’re the best.
